League of Legends Lore

I know I am a little late with this comment, but I still feel as if I have to add my comments. I used to get really invested in League's lore, and when there was a break between champ releases I would read plenty of fan-fictions about my favorite champions. I took a long break from being invested in the lore so I could focus on growing as a player. And as of recently I have found that I am wanting to get back into the lore again. To my surprise I found that Riot's story writing team has completely deleted the Institute of War from the lore, and with that goes the Summoners. Not only has that disappointed me, it has disconnected me from the game itself. Now because of the lack of Summoners in the lore, it feels as if there is no real reason for the champions to be in the game.

I may not be a writer and I know nothing of the struggles of writing an evolving story, but from what I have gathered in my investigation to the 'new' lore, it would have been just as easy to write out the IoW through means of story rather than retcon and delete the whole think without explanation.

It maybe too late to change much now, but I ask this of Riot's Narrative team:

Now that the Institute of War is gone from the lore, presumably for good, what happened to the champions that inhabited it? Not the ones that came for diplomatic reasons like Jarvan IV or Katarina, but the ones who were locked up there because they would create havoc accross the land. Fearsome champions like Nocturne and Fiddlesticks, otherworldly creatures like Cho'Gath, Kog'Maw, Kha'Zix, and Vel'Koz. What happens to them? Are the released upon Runeterra? if so, what is stopping them from destroying the world by whatever means necessary?

Don't worry. Apparently, the new platform by which they want to present the lore is FINALLY getting tested this month (within a week, actually), so we will FINALLY see that lore they've been promising.

And with that will probably come all the retcons and updates on lore that wouldn't be tied by events such as Shaco, Fiddle, and Nocturne. You know, unless they get retconned into different factions for whatever ungodly reason. (Voodoo Lands, maybe?)
