Lore Question 3: Nami and Zyra's Physiology

To start this off, no, I will not be talking about Nami's breasts, not a lot anyways, so anybody who thought that you're free to leave. Unless, you want to miss out on me talking about Zyra's legs, among other things... :P

So starting with Nami, I don't completely understand her classic skin, what's with that collar? I mean, does she wear a layer of scales over her scales or do they help her swim? Are they for attracting mates? Who knows? It honestly appears that she could slip out of it and do the whole Little Mermaid thing where she gets legs. Realistically speaking, or as real as I can get when it comes to the League of Legends universe, her collar thing makes little to no sense except for attracting attention to her chest. Which is... much appreciated.

Now onto Zyra, her legs though, where is the cutoff between plant and human? Around the upper thighs you can see slits between the leaves showing off some rather tasteful thigh action, but once you hit the knees it goes just weird. Is she wearing boots made out of leaves or are those her actual legs? It being more likely that those are her actual legs considering that they have the toes showing or whatevers, but then they have a high heel on them which makes me think that she's just wearing boots. Another thing, what's up with her arms? It's the same as with her legs, once you hit the joints it turns to plants. Are all these leaves and plant material on her legs and arms part of her actual body or are they just a protective layer that she can peel off when she wants to?

About Nami: I think that second layer of skin is attached to her lower body. So while she can likely take it off her upper body, but can't slip out of it completely. Thinking about it,it actually makes a lot of sense for Nami to be a Vastaya,as it means that these weird scales are likely the result of their shapeshifting abilities rather than any biological evolution.(similar to how the wings of Xayah and Rakan are made to resemble cloaks on purpose)

About Zyra: She is pretty much a plant mimicking a human. Her feet are simply formed in a way to mimic high heels(she has a thorn growing out of her foot that acts like a heel)

Zyra's lore is pretty old and I'm not sure if she's a plant possessing a human or a plant SHAPED like a human, so I can't really say.

For Nami however, her 'clothes' in a sense, or more specifically that collar, are a product of Vastayan shapeshifting. All Vastaya can shapeshift to a sense, but being born to a tribe and growing up with a culture kinda just subconsciously makes them choose a specific form, and they can barely change their look as shapeshifting takes a copious amount of magic. For instance, Rakan and Xayah's feathers are capes because they chose that form, and it's mentioned that Rakan can wrap his feathers around him to form something as elaborate as a feathery tuexedo, but that would take too much magical energy.

Just a quick note on Nami's "fish titties" ( I am so sorry ), and apologies if this seems too off topic, but I have a personal theory that they are vestigial figures from their revealed human heritage form being Vastaya, a bit like how we as humans have a 'tail' in our pelvis, an appendix to help us digest raw meats or how some whales actually have feet-bones, despite having flippers.

Along with that, a second theory is that they also may be purely an AESTHETIC part of their bodies now, and not really serve a function involving...well...milk. For instance, hair is a very common part of human biology, but it actually serves absolutely no purpose in our lives other than to look pretty, as it was used before as a form of preserving heat, where we now have clothing. In the Marai's case, they are human after all and may carry on their...attraction...to...well you sort of get where I'm going with this.

Omg this made me laugh so much, thank you. Not sure if that was your intention, but thank you.

" what's with that collar? I mean, does she wear a layer of scales over her scales or do they help her swim? Are they for attracting mates? Who knows? It honestly appears that she could slip out of it and do the whole Little Mermaid thing where she gets legs. "

Had me dying.

Nami is made of magic. That's the best and true description you can get.

On Nami, I'm confused what you mean by collar. You mean the obvious metal collar with a jewel in it that appears as ceremonial armour to project her throat (a vital area), like the armour around her waste is there to help her swim (see fin on the back). The headdress just being that a headdress. Or do you mean the parts of her body that 'hide' certain parts of her more human anatomy that we might find..... appealing? Because that stuff just seems like her species anatomy, may be like a fin. I mean her hair isn't hair, it seems like cartilidge based appendage, like Mass Effects Asari's have but longer and more flowy.
