Would you kindly give Veigar's ultimate ability a bit more oomph, so at the very least someone knows they have been hit instead of wondering why their life bar suddenly disappeared? Just for future reference.

A Superb Villain6 votesThat is my largest point of discontent with Veigar; his Event Horizon and Dark Matter have are recognizable and give a fairly clear idea to allies and enemies what they do, but his Baleful Strike and Primordial Burst are lacking. The former can be mistaken for an auto attack, while the latter can easily be lost in the particle effect nightmare that is a teamfight.
The spell effect for Master Arcanist Zigg's ultimate has a very clear explosion that feels gratifying for a player to use. Additionally, the pillar that shoots up readily displays to allies and enemies an ultimate was used.

A Superb Villain3 votesYes. Veigar is outdated, and it clearly shows in his model and spell effects. Everything else about him is wonderfully conveyed through mechanics and thematics. Visuals are the only thing I find lacking.
He is the traditional mage, complete with pointy hat and destructive magic. His kit is based around beginning a match weak, but progressively getting stronger to the point of annihilating foes with overpowering spells. There is no champion more perfectly embodied by their select quote: "Know, that if the tables were turned, I would show you no mercy!"
Veigar is perfect, thematically, mechanically, and aesthetically. What he lacks, and my only gripe, is quality on par with current champions, as many older champions do. This will change, eventually, but I enjoy talking about it now.

I mean he does have an old model and is barely comparable to the rest of the new Yordles. Needs to be more like that race while still containing that dark shrouded figure thing. And yes, his ability effects are outdated. They should reference Master Arcanist Ziggs and Ryze since both have pretty nice spell effects. But Veigar would need more dark space kinda look to his abilities, ya know.

That being said, I do wonder if "dark space" is appropriate. Yes, his abilities certainly suggest this association, but Veigar also has a strong affinity for black magic, such as Baleful Strike. It's flavor text and function suggests it siphons power from a victim, which can also be argued he is literally siphoning a targets energy (heat) via creating a sphere of negative energy, or such.
I am simply wondering what would be more visually impactful and thematic; unholy black magic or reality defying space magic?

A Superb Villain1 votesYou are right in that Master Arcanist Ziggs' ultimate spell effects are more suited to that skin than Veigar, as it was made for that skin specifically. What I mean to convey is it should be a frame of reference for when Riot turns their attention to updating Veigar, whose ultimate could benefit from a more brutal impact befitting a spell that attempts to literally recreate the formation of the universe.
