Another day, another disappointed main

We've had Varus, we've had Nautilus, we've even had Vladimir. Now I beg you for a little attention for Poison Ivy:

Born in an ancient, sorcerous catastrophe, Zyra is the wrath of nature given form—an alluring hybrid of plant and human, kindling new life with every step. She views the many mortals of Valoran as little more than prey for her seeded progeny, and thinks nothing of slaying them with flurries of deadly spines. Though her true purpose has not been revealed, Zyra wanders the world, indulging her most primal urges to colonize, and strangle all other life from it.

Because this is Poison Ivy.

Rito, I have always defended you when someone spoke in this way about Zyra and sometimes it was a tough fight, but back then there were arguments to support my claim. With this update you took them away. Everything that made Zyra distinct from Poison Ivy was replaced with the exact opposite and what is worst... she is now not only Ivy's copy, but her arguably worst adaptation's copy: the Batman and Robin movie one.

You replaced unique environmental catastrophe origin story with lazy, unexplained "sorcerous catastrophy", which is not only how Uma Thurman's (still one of my most favourite actresses btw) Ivy came to be, but how every comics "destroy the world" villain came to be.

Which brings us to another point: Why does Zyra want to destroy the world now? Exactly the same way Poison Ivy wants to? Old Zyra was a relatable character because first she only wanted to survive and after that she just wanted to see. She wanted to explore and yes, it is completely different thing that the only way she knew how was to kill and eat everything. That was actually room for so much potential to expand on! She could encounter people who would guide her to find an actual goal, who would teach her that she doesn't need to kill everyone, who would show her the Immortal bastion, who would show her the Sun disc of Shurima...

And you instead choose to say that she just wants to kill everyone, spread everywhere, but her true motive is still unknown and you don't even feel stupid writing that. Which you wouldn't have to, if you had that "true purpose" in your mind, which I doubt.

YOU MIGHT HAVE MEANT IT THE SAME WAY AS I TELL YOU RIGHT NOW YOU SHOULD HAVE. But if that is the case, you screwed up your wording really bad. Please, tell me you did. I don't want your appology, just you to fix it. Tell me "her true purpose has not been revealed" because she doesn't know it yet either.

Thank you for your attention. Zyra fanart by me to remind you to eat healthy. https://imgur.com/m0bnFg9

Its kind of annoying how they just seem to keeping changing things for the sake of changing things. Its not like "Last plant in a dieing magic forest jacks the body of a wandering sorceress in a final desperate bid to survive." even had anything in it that contradicted anything in the new lore.

Just completely unnecessary IMO.

She could become a demon, an incarnation of nature's wrath.

And as a Zyra main myself, I really like the way she's going to, I want her to become a sadistic carnivorous predator, visiting realms and destroying each part of its livings, she IS NATURE itself, and with the new piece of lore they gave us, she is an immortal hybrid creature : the incarnation of cruelty in the animal reign, at the top of the food chain.

Her old lore told us she was vulnerable with this new human body, and we didn't even have a single clue of her real powers, now we can see that she's powerful and her powers are unlimited, she is GLOBAL. Imagine all the cool stories we can have between her and different factions trying to destroy her, the political conflicts and ancient tales of different peoples trying to identify her as a living nightmare, a real threat to humanity such as void invasion.

I can agree with you with the fact that they didn't really tried to figure out what was her REAL purpose, I was upset at the start, but now I really enjoy it, because she can become more than just a human vessel who visits new countries for fun or whatever, but a real antagonist for humanity, her goal is to spread in the entire world and not just seeing things, she can also become an empress of her own lands, rally into human causes or trying start a cult in her name, release her kind from human domination... Or just feeding like a predator could do.

At first, nobody knows who was Zyra, she was just living in a jungle... And wanted to see the world, and that's pretty much it, she has no affiliations, now she can compete with powerful entities such as void creatures and even demons ! I can also imagine a rivalry between her and Lissandra for example, each of them wants to control the world with their rules.

I can understand why you are upset, but we can only wait for her new stories, and see what direction they give to our beloved Zyra !

I SWEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR IF THEY DON'T STOP RUINING EVERY CHAMPION. Jesus christ can't the lore team go on a break and find a new job? Wtf is this shit? They even ruined Karma's bio for no fucking reason to fit with the typical supportive character

It would hurt less if the lore writers came and explained their reasoning rather than be just like "deal with it".

Keep in mind this is a short form lore paragraph that is not meant to encompass the entirety of the character.

that sorcerous catastrophy could be the rune wars

It might be the same thing as Varus; we just need to wait for context. Remember what happened with Viktor and don't count your chickens before they've hatched.

Retcon her so that she is a sorceress from Black Rose. :3

This archetype has existed for centuries and was not created by DC. It's very common.
