Can their story ever reach an end?

We have many champions that are disconnected from the world right now, but most have outdated Lore (Syndra Annie Alistar Evelynn Corki Fiddlesticks Lulu... ), while there are 2 that have been updated, but are still quite disconnected from the rest of champions, and have no real means to end their stories for good in sight.

Yorick he is loosely conected to the rest of the champions of the Shadow Isles as he hates them, and have a more or less common goal with Maokai, but... How can he get to restore the Islands? he is closer to failing than to getting his objetive, as killing all the undead champions doesn't make sure that the island will be restored, he is damned to carry a never ending story and to never interact with the rest of champions unless they go to the shadow isles, a quite unlikely feat right now.

Ryze is completely disconnected from the whole world, even when he is fighting to save them all, he only has Brand as an enemy and while that isn't explained at all, it isn't hard to guess why. He could appear anywhere because that it was being a wandering mage means, but his quest seems doomed since the start, as we don't really know how many World Runes exist, and he isn't some kind of superpowerful mage, but a more or less normal one, judging by his story, so he is quite likely to die in the middle of his quest instead of collecting all of the Runes and finally dying in peace once they are all out of the map.

** I can't help but ask myself if these 2 are actually able to have a happy ending on their stories? Or are they damned to forever roam Runeterra alone, in a endless impossible quest? Should Riot add more data to them? At least to give a small semblance of hope for those two with little bit of help, like a hard to reach but possible way to purify the islands for Yorick or a reliable way to pinpoint the Runes for Ryze instead of waiting for some strange rumors to arise in order to go investigate for a possible World Rune that could or couldn't be. **

Actually Yorick wants to end the shadow isles, not restore them.

And he can easily interact with other shadow isles champs, not sure what would stop him from doing that.

Warwick lore update = nonsensical & irrelevant lore for Soraka . Still waiting.

Think of it like a comic book. Will the Punisher ever run out of criminals to kill? Will Blade kill every vampire? Probably not, but it's their journeys that make their stories fun.

since the game lore and the actual game are disconnected from each other now, it is possible to resolve individual champion stories and its even possible for them to die.

dont expect something like that any time soon though.

with the amount of champions there are, its always possible to just say they want to focus on the story of another champion instead of continuing already existing stories. they have enough material to write stories for another 10 years before resolving the ones that exist now.

Honest, all Ryze Rework jokes aside, Ryze is probably one of the best champion we have for story-telling. He is old mage, with a clear defined goal and he has like 1532523 related champion and I personally wanna have a story for every single one of them. Even if he would success with his mission to get every single word rune, he still couldn't rest since he can't trust anyone with them. Ryze, in some extend, is a tragic hero, since he has a never-ending task and he is so world-weary (I don't know if this translation fits that well, in german there is literally a word that means "tired of being alive", that would perfectly fit for him). So he carry on. As long he has to.

Honest, I kinda see Yorick in the same boat. Hopefully, we will get some stories for them.

You're asking the million dollar question.
