Kindred rework ideas
Although Kindred has recently received some very good quality of life buffs i still personaly think that some of their abilities aren't quite matching their theme or giving them a unique playstyle. Here a some thoughts and changes that might make them more interesting.
Passive: My arrows or my teeth
- Lamb's arrows crit for 150% damage on targets below 10% Max Hp (+0.4% HP/1% crit chance) - cannot crit normaly
- Wolf's attacks do 30% total AD + 8% of the targets current HP (% damage Scaling with AD) Note: - Wolf has the same attack speed as Lamb
Q -
Lamb hops a short distance gaining increased attack speed for 4 seconds. If she hops while W is active, the cooldown of this ability is reduced.
Note: Similar to current functionality, but without dealing damage. Also the attack speed bonus scales with the ability's level, not with the amount of marks acquired.
W - Lamb Calls, Wolf Strikes
Lamb calls wolf to attack her target in an area around her (much like an attack range). During this time, lamb can't attack, but her right click directs wolf to it's target, if it's inside the claimed zone. The zone is centered on Lamb so that Wolf can never be too far away from her. This ability can be deactivated upon recast.
The area of the zone increases with level and have a slight cdr reduction.
Note: Unlike Azir's soldiers, whom work as an auto attack, Wolf will keep attacking the targeted enemy inside the zone, allowing Lamb to move freely. If the enemy steps away from the zone, Wolf will return to lamb and will only resume attacking once an auto attack comand has been given.
E -
Wolf shoots in a straight line (reasonably short up to 700 units) damaging and slowing all enemies hit by 30% for 1 sec. If wolf attacks the target while under the effect of this ability, it will increase the duration of the slow by 1 sec per attack, up to 4 secs total.
Note: The line starts on wolf's model, meaning if Kindred is in W mode with Wolf far from Lamb, the line will start at his model. This means that wolf can exit the range of the claimed zone, but as soon as his finishes his E animation, he will walk back (not teleported back) towards his target (if it never left the zone) and resume attacking. Otherwise, he will walk back to Lamb's side.
Note: The point of all this walking is to make Wolf an actual part of the champ, rather just a sidekick who teleports around. For simplicity sake, wolf can ignore unit colision and terrain (It's not like he can move too far away from Lamb anyway so this shouldn't be a problem).
R - Mark of the Kindred (CD - 180 seconds at all levels, Global range) After 2 seconds Kindred marks a target champion for 1 minute, gaining (15% - 30% - 45%) movement speed towards it, if in a radius of 2000 units of Lamb. Wolf attacks maims marked targets, slowing them by 15% lasting for 1 sec after each attack. (This slow stacks with E) Takedowns on marked champions grants a mark. Each mark grants lamb 5% more crit damage on her autos.
Note: This ability makes so that marking someone actualy does something. The long cd is so that Kindred gives some breathing space between her threats of " I'm comming for you!".
The scaling on the mark means that it's strong but in a very limited way. Kindred needs 10 marks to reach 200% crit damage and has to build some crit chance in order to increase the threshold of the crits actually happening. i didn't collect the data or anything but based on my experience with them I can roughly estimate that the current Kindred averages out on about 8-9 marks per game. This means that on avarage kindred might reach the normal crit modifier on most of her games. But that will only be impactful in her playstyle if she is building crit chance.
And even if she has max crit chances and a ludicrous amount of marks she still won't be able to one shot people because of the HP threshold, so she won't be OP.
I know this new kit as a whole still need work and some numbers might be in need a adjustment, but i do hope that this will please most and that some of these ideas might inspire people at Riot and then, who knows?
Thank you.
