Addition of a warm up map for players

Hey guys and gals,

Recently I've found myself enjoying Riots new "Dark Star: Singularity" map and got the idea that Riot should create a warm up map for players before they start a serious game. I think having such a map would increase the chances of players doing better in their normal/ranked games and heck I even dare say may prevent some in game toxicity. The map doesn't have to be something fancy or extravagant but enough for players to test their reflexes and warm up their minds. A map that has a short enough game length but long enough to feel satisfying, probably somewhere between 10-15mins would be just right.

What are your thoughts and opinions about this?

So, "practice tool","custom", or "ARAM"? Or do you mean for the Dark Star Map itself?

Sorry about the late reply, I don't post often, but this idea was definitely intriguing to me. By idea, I mean a map that would specifically give players a chance to practice the skills one would use in the game. For example in the Dark Star Map players can practice their side-stepping skills to avoid hooks and flays. Another skill that this so-called practice map could offer could be map awareness. These would just be some skills players might like to brush up on before they jump into a normal or ranked game. What are your thoughts about this?

I play aram to warm up, personally. How would your warm up map be different? Other than apparently a shorter game time?

Perhaps this is something we can figure out as a community. Ideas from players of different levels and skills will have different wants and needs in their "perfect" practice map. Keeping that in mind, having ideas posted for each individual players desired practice map will allow for a more well-rounded design that can encompass the needs of the majority.

I think ability usage/dodging is the primary concern for a practice map. I'm unsure of how you would go about making a map for map awareness. Personally, I think map awareness is just a skill you develop as you play more normal games. I think intermediate bots in customs offer a lot of skill building as their AI (which has improved immensely) makes them very gung ho to kill you but also very dodgy when they are in a dangerous spot.

I have thought about Riot's AI map, but what I am looking for is more of a pvp type. Similar to the dark star map, these were other players who were trying to one up each other. What I found enjoyable about a map like this was, the map was long enough for you to feel prepared in order to transition into a normal game, the game wasn't frustrating enough to cause tilt, BM, or toxicity. Players on the dark star map were looking to have fun, potentially outplay the other thresh's and to fling some scuttles into the void. Similarly, the practice map would look to give players the tools they needed to prepare for a serious game.
