Skins, Character Models and Splash Arts

Perhaps in the coming year when you slow down on new champion releases, you could perhaps turn your attention to the plethora of champs that could use character/splash updates (like Miss Fortune received), and new skins.

It's kinda scummy that a lot of the time older champions are simply given new skins with improved models/animations and nice splashes rather than updating the base champion and all of the skins therein (again, like Miss Fortune did).

Ex: Udyr, Zilean, Garen, J4, LeBlanc, Amumu, Caitlyn, Ashe, and Anivia to name a few in descending severity.

They don't even need any ability changes; and may have already gotten VFX updates, they just need character models/splash updates. LeBlanc and Zilean are probably the worst IMO. If not for Program LeBlanc the champion itself looks really terrible, and you've only just released Sugar Rush Zilean. Then there's Garen... Desert Soldier, Commando... -_-

Y'all have seriously improved in terms of champion design, and every character deserves to look as good (across the board) as any of the new releases over the past few years.

Then there's the issue of skin releases in general...

I mean... Xerath hasn't had a skin in almost 5 years despite all the recent Cosmic/Dark Star releases... How?

Popularity shouldn't be the only determining factor for skins. Poor Shen waited how long before Pulsefire and Infernal? Ornn is still stuck with his release skin. Kayn only has his release skin and Odyssey. There's so many others...

Lux, Riven, and Ezreal have had enough. It's time to really standardize the visual quality of your roster.

As far as we know, Riot aims for a 50/50 split between new champions and VGUs. And what you are asking for here is a VGU, the Ezreal-treatment. While it is minor when it comes to gameplay and mostly focuses on the visuals, it still takes the ressources of the VGU teams.

And I think an even split is fair. While I enjoy VGUs (and I want to see Dr. Mundo, Caitlyn, and Blitzcrank updated real bad), there are still many champion archetypes which I am still missing in the game and I hope to get some new toys soon.

PLEASE finally give us a new Zaunite or Piltovan, Riot. Camille and EKko have been ages ago!

I totally agree that some visual updates for older skins would be WONDERFUL. After all, Riot has better tech, skills, and artists than when they first started making skins, so it makes sense that some older skins should be updated to today's skin standards. It's a massive undertaking, no doubt, with ALL the outdated skins hanging around, but I think one every month or two would be spectacular.

Ahh, that Shen comment made my heart ache. Still glad he got both Pulsefire and Infernal, though. I'll be surprised if they don't do something else with him and/or Zed, in terms of skins, next May when the Zed comic wraps up. I think Ornn receiving a new skin or six should be a top priority in the skin department at this point. Aaaand finally...I'm banking on Candy Kayn coming out sometime next November. I'm predicting it now. Kayn skins take forever to make since it's three-in-one plus voiced lines and champ interactions, but the community has been begging for a whimsical Kayn skin since FOREVER. We'll get one eventually, I'm sure.
