Future Champ? (Permanent "pet" champ revisited)

A while back (like, years) there was a Q&A with Meddler, discussing the possibility of a permanent pet champion. It was said that in time it might be revisited, and i think the attempt might have been with Kindred, however, I think there's more potential here. Nothing fancy for me to say really, but I thought it would be interesting to share this idea with the community, and see your takes on potential pet champs. I had this concept for a husband and wife duo, or perhaps a friend duo champ, and the idea is that one or the other of them was/is forced/cursed/or was born (i.e shapeshifter) into another form, be it a spirit, an animal, or something. Their abilities together is definitely a topic for discussion, but I have yet to see Riot attempt a switch-type character, in which one of their qwer abilities is to switch between them, so you play the human/humanoid character, use (likely the ultimate R) an ability to switch to playing the pet character, which in turn makes the abilities different. Perhaps one character's qwe's do physical damage, and the other's does ability power damage, or can mostly dish heals, CC, shielding, etc. There are many ways to build on the concept, and also balance the characters; for instance should one die, the other does too, healing abilities do some healing but very little with semi-lengthy cool downs and expensive mana cost, plus the difficult build of both AD and AP. Perhaps one character is squishy and the other is relatively normal/tanky, which configures again into a difficult build. The passive could be similar to Aurelion Sol in that the companion champion (unlike Wolf from Kindred) is always at your side, (kind of like tibbers) dealing little bits of auto attack damage when close enough to an enemy, but they're restricted to a particular range since they are behind/ next to you. This definitely is a very rough idea, but I believe it is interesting none-the-less. Could be worked out and become an actual champ, mayhaps. What do you think?
