Skarner idea?

So, I've been thinking about Skarner and the possible changes he could use for a while now. His kit lacks cohesion and could use an update (again). Seeing as he is a scorpion and is crystal, why not introduce a unique type of poison for him (whether in a passive or active ability): Crystallize. It would have some sort of over time effect, and then the opponent would crystallize, which could be some type of stun or petrifying effect. This could be somewhat similar to Sejauni's ultimate, except instead of a single ability and AoE, it could be over several abilities or autos, and single target.

Also, as a second note, Skarner's current ultimate makes little sense in terms of immersion, as I don't believe there are any scorpions that shoot out a line to drag prey. This seems much more like a spider-like (trapdoor maybe) type of ability. Maybe another spider champion that could use the current Skarner ultimate?
