Vander - The Lighthouse Keeper

Lore: Vander is a stern, old man. He is a lighthouse keeper that lives on the coast of Bilgewater. He is a very sad lonely man, who has no friends and family. He often has nightmares of infinite isolation at night and contemplates the meaning of life during the day. His only reason for joining the League was to not be alone anymore. (Sorry im not the best at lore but for what I lack in storytelling I make up in creative and original gameplay and abilities).

Stats: HEALTH 570 – 2130 ATTACK DAMAGE 55 – 139 HEALTH REGEN. 8.2 – 20.3 ATTACK SPEED [] 0.625 (+0% – 51.0%) MANA 310 – 1000 ARMOR 29.0 – 89.9 MANA REGEN. 7.8 – 21.3 MAGIC RES. 32.3 – 54.7 MELEE 175 MOV. SPEED 325 **_

Abilities:

Passive: Keen Eye: Since Vander stares out at the ocean all day, he has a strong eyesight. His vision in-game is increased by 65 range. This passive doesn't scale with level.

Q: **Lantern Smash - ** Vander smashes his lantern into the enemy. This does 30 attack damage (+25 each upgrade).

Cooldown: 10 seconds (-.82 each upgrade)

Mana cost: 75 (+2.5 each upgrade)

Scales with Attack Damage

W: Kerosene Bucket - Vander splashes the enemy with kerosene from a bucket. This ability slows the enemy by 15% for .75 seconds (+.20 each upgrade). If Vander uses his Q on an enemy slowed by his W, the enemy is set on fire for 4 seconds, dealing 40 magic damage over time (plus 20 each upgrade). This ability can hit up to 3 enemies at once, if they are standing within a range of 120 of each other.

Cooldown: 12 seconds (-.75 each upgrade)

Mana Cost: 120 (+10 each upgrade).

Only the fire part of this ability scales with AP. The slow does not scale with anything.

E: All-Seeing Telescope - Vander takes 1.25 seconds to set up his telescope. Once the player clicks the direction of the telescope, Vander and his teammates can see into the fog of war at a length of 700 (+40 each upgrade) and a width of 200 (doesnt scale). The telescope lasts for 4 seconds, and any enemy seen will be granted the sight debuff, allowing Vander and his team to see the enemy for another 3 seconds afterwards. Vander cannot move while this ability is in place.

Cooldown: 50 seconds (-1 each upgrade)

Mana Cost: 130 (+7 each upgrade)

Doesnt do damage

R: Lighthouse of Vision - Vander places a lighthouse the size of a ward. The lighthouse shoots out a little rotating light that can see into the fog of war and has a range of 300 (+50 each upgrade) lengthwise and has a width of 150 (doesnt scale). These lighthouses, like wards, go invisible after being placed and can be spotted with red trinkets. The lighthouses last 180 seconds naturally. Vander can place only 3 of these on the map at one time.

Cooldown: 65 Seconds

Mana Cost: 220 (+20 each upgrade)

Does no damage

Gameplay: I imagine Vander as a top lane tank/fighter or even a viable support if played correctly.

Top Lane: Vander can use his w +q combo to poke the enemy while clearing minions. His clear speed is slow, though, so last hitting is essential. Make sure to use your E before going in on the enemy to see if the enemy jungler is going to gank. You can also use your E to see where the enemy jungler is at in their jungle. This can allow your jungler to steal key enemy buffs from the enemy jungler. Vanders R would be helpful to predict enemy ganks and see if the enemy is taking baron.

Build:

Beginning Items: item 1054 item 2003 item 3340

Essential or Helpful Items: item 3156 item 3068 item 3074 item 3068 item 3143 item 3102

Offensive Items: item 3074 item 3156 item 3072

Defensive Items: item 3143 item 3512 item 3102

Situational Items: item 3008

Support: if used correctly, Vanders E and R can be an ADCs best friend. Vanders E can be used to predict enemy ganks and see if the enemy is taking dragon without putting Vander in any danger. His R could be placed in key ganking or jungle spots to assist his entire team in seeing where the enemy is and what they are up to. His W can be used to help secure kills for his ADC and even set up ganks for his jungler. Vander would be the tanky sort of support.

Build:

Beginning Items: item 3302 item 2003 item 2043 or item 3340

Essential or Helpful Items: item 3401 item 3143 item 3102 item 3084 item 3068 item 3060

No need for offensive or defensive lists, the main build is the essential build.

Vander's Quotes:

"Storms tear me limb from limb".

"I scan across the horizon, and see nothing but weak adversaries!"

"Far out, man!"

"I am the seal of Death."

Vander's Taunts:

"You smell like seaweed!"

"I prophesy your demise, weak foe!"

Thank you for reading my champion concept. I hope you enjoyed!. If you have any comments or suggestions, please tell me. Im always open to change and criticism!

ok, so I think this has potential, it just needs some tweeks, here are my thoughts.

Backstory: Simple, but an interesting change, much more of a normal guy who doesn't have any special abilities, though somehow he's able to keep up with Aatrox Fizz AurelionSol Azir Illaoi etc. Maybe I would give him some combat experience or special abilities, but that's just me. The main problem is that it doesn't make sense how he could learn to fight and he has no character's he interacts with, I would think he would know Gangplank and MissFortune or maybe he had a bad experience with either those 2 or TwistedFate and that's why he knows how to fight or why he's so angry. But in the end, it works for what it is Lore a B

Playstyle: This needs much more improvement, the q and w combo is fine, but man it does absolutely no damage, you need to add the (+ insert % here, physical/magical damage) because if not he'll be probably the weakest champ i've seen, also the passive, e, and r, 2 of those might need to change because a lot of vision abilities, while it's cool and unique, what service does it give? The e I would keep, and change the r and passive to something more helpful, r is just another ward, and passive is of little help. As such he earns a C- for gameplay.

One more thing, you might wanna title the voice lines and when he says those lines, as well as what his voice sounds like.

Pros: Nice Q and W combo Fun concept

Cons: Too many sight abilities Little to no reason for him to be here and connection to others. Abilities do some of the worst damage Most abilities scaling is pitiful and needs to be buffed

overall: C+ I can see where you're going with this and it can work, you just need to improve it quite a bit before it's a really good concept! [slayer-jinx-wink]
