Reworking Varus

Hello guys,

Today I wish to talk about my favorite Marksman, Varus, and how I could see his skill kit improve in the nearby future. I know that there might be people which can and will disagree of my request, and I am more than happy to debate anything with them if necessarily. First of all let me add this, I main Varus, he was my first bought champion, which I really wished to have and he fits not just by how his play style is, but how his story lore is like. I've had ups and downs and I can say that we grew together. Now what I actually wish to see in the future is a possible rework, and here is what I wish to add.

Those who have been playing him, know a bit or two about how his skill kits and how non-mobile he is on the battlefield. So let us jump at his skills:

**Living Vengeance ** Varus gains 20% bonus attack speed for 3 seconds upon killing a minion or monster, increased to 40% bonus attack speed for 6 seconds upon taking down an enemy champion.

Honestly, I can't say I dislike this passive of his, as it is very useful, but here is what I would like to see.

Blighted Quiver Passive: Varus's basic attacks deal bonus magic damage and apply Blighted Quiver Blight for 6 seconds, stacking up to 3 times. Bonus Magic Damage: 10 / 14 / 18 / 22 / 26 (+ 25% AP) Varus's other abilities consume Blighted Quiver Blight on enemies upon damaging them, dealing them magic damage for each stack, capped at 360 against monsters. 「 Magic Damage per Stack: 2 / 2.75 / 3.5 / 4.25 / 5% (+ 2% per 100 AP) of the target's maximum health 」

Now this 2nd passive is the thing, why have 2 passives which combined do improve him considerable, but making him basically a running old man on the battlefield, leaving him exposed to basically easy gank's without escapes, but the summoner 4 itself.

What I would love to see is the 2 passives combine as 1, yes, we lose the upgrade on his W, but we could add a skill that could be a reliable for Varus, that could more likely save his life.

My suggestion would be a skill that offers him an escape, despite his R and sometime his slow with his E, something that could push the enemy, such as Vayne's E or the R of Tristana. This new skill, not only it might push Varus up on the latter to become a more reliable ADC/APC, but also it would welcome more players to try him out. I've seen quiet plenty of ADC's out there that have an escape, Ezreal's E, Vayne's Q and E are very useful, Draven's W, Tristana's jump and R and many more. Give him a combined Passive with his E, offering him stackable blight, with no increase if that would make him too strong, and keeping his old passive, such as increased speed to blighted enemies. I think that this idea could be used and discussed upon. I am more than happy to hear others opinion and maybe come to a closer more reliable idea for him if you wish.

As an update I would add the following request, to get a better understanding of the modification that I would like to see.

Uppon a stack's Varus gains 20% bonus attack speed for 3 seconds upon killing a minion or monster, that had stacked blight, increased to 40% bonus attack speed for 6 seconds upon taking down an enemy champion, which have blight stacked._

Piercing Arrow (Unchanged)

_First Cast: Varus channels for up to 4 seconds, increasing Piercing Arrow's range and damage over the next 2 seconds. 「 Minimum Physical Damage: 10 / 46.7 / 83.3 / 120 / 156.7 (+ 100% AD) 」 Varus can still move while channeling, but cannot use basic attacks or abilities and is Slow icon slowed by 20%. At the end of the channel, Piercing Arrow is automatically cancelled, refunding half of its mana cost. 「 Maximum Physical Damage: 15 / 70 / 125 / 180 / 235 (+ 160% AD) 」

Second Cast: Varus fires, dealing physical damage to all enemies in the arrow's path, reduced by 15% per enemy hit down to a minimum of 33% damage._

Rapture Arrow

Varus fires an arrow at a target within close range to inflict physical damage, knocking the target back, while pushing Varus at a short distance, further in the back. (possible a small dash in the back, as Grave's ultimate, does)

Hail of Arrows (Unchanged)

_Active: Varus fires a hail of arrows that deals physical damage to all enemies in the target area and desecrates the ground for 4 seconds, Slow icon slowing all enemies standing in it and applying Grievous Wounds icon grievous wounds.

Physical Damage: 65 / 100 / 135 / 170 / 205 (+ 60% bonus AD) Slow: 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45%_

Chain of Corruption (Unchanged)

_Active: Varus flings out a tendril of corruption that infects the first enemy champion hit, dealing magic damage, Root icon rooting them for 2 seconds and applying 3 stacks of Blighted Quiver Blight.

Magic Damage: 100 / 175 / 250 (+ 100% AP)

The corruption then attempts to spread towards nearby enemy champions that stay near the infected champion for 2 seconds, applying the same effects, then continues to spread until there are no further targets in range. Each champion can only be infected once per cast._

Anyway, let me know what you think about this idea and if the developers should consider using this idea in a future rework for Varus.
