Hello everyone, it's Tony again. I'm currently in the process of preparing for my Riot internship portfolio, and here is another original champion. I would love to get some feedback from you all!

This is still a work in progress, so any suggestions will be awesome :)

**His name currently is DoDo **(feel free to suggest another name). I remember seeing someone saying" Imagine a penguin champion waddling after you, it would horrifying and hilarious at the same time", I just can't get that imagine out of my head, a little penguin coming out of the jungle to gank you? I think that is totally awesome! There are so many "serious" champions right now, I want DoDo to be a happy little penguin and bring some humor to the field of justice. He is clumsy, but strong, DoDo's got heart and he is very ambitious. His optimistic attitude towards life and never giving up can always brighten people's day.

Lore I'm not a good writer at all, but here is a summary of the story I have so far. DoDo was born in a fighter's tribe in Freljord. Ever since he was a kid, DoDO had always wanted to be a hero and he had always dreamed to fly one day. He wanted to become the next Anivia. As a kid, Dodo spent all of his time collecting feathers and taping them on to his little so-called wings and try to fly. He had failed and fell on his face at least twice a day, but he never gave up. He just collected more feathers and started working out his upper body strength more. Time gone by, all the kids his age are now hunting and becoming the fighters of their tribe. Except for DoDo, who's still trying to fly. Everyone in the tribe thinks DoDo is a fool and is no use to the tribe. The leader of the tribe kicked DoDo out, saying " how could someone that can't even walk properly ever be able to fly?" and sarcastically said DoDo could return when he could do either. DoDo was sad, but happy at the same time that now he gets to collect all the other types of bird feathers outside of Freljord. After hearing stories about a great inventor from some yordles, DoDo came to Heimerdinger and hoping he could help him. DoDo's ambition and hardwork moved Heimerdinger and he decided to make DoDo something awesome. With the new hextech wings, DoDo is now able to fly a little distance at a time. DoDO returned home to see his people. They are not impressed at all. They are asking how good are the wings if the person can't even fight. They said DoDo would only be accepted if he can beat all the greatest fighters of Freljord and fly higher than Anivia, or when he can walk properly. Wanting to helping his tribe and be recognized, and he wanted to go on another adventurer, DoDo is now headed to the League of Legend.

Abilities The abilities I have so far are that, he is on a fuel system. Most of his abilities will cost fuel.

Belly Slide (suggested by Sayakiko and Inept Marvrick): DoDo slides on his icy belly in a straight line will knock up the first enemy champion he hits. It also leaves an ice trail to speed up teammates. The other version is that DoDo shoots out an ice trail on the ground to speed up teammates, he can then reactive to slide on it.

Fly and Bomb ( could be ult): He can fly for a short distance. He is flying at the height of Tristana's max jump height. This allows him to fly above champions and over walls. When abilities ends, or reactivated, DoDo will stop the jet engine and slam down onto enemies in AOE and knock them up. Imagine his saying "woops" or something like that because he is still new to flying. DoDo takes no damage from the fall because he is good at it. He had fell on to his face many many times haha

Jet in your face: DoDo can aim his jet engines at enemies or structure. If it hits structure, he will be pushed towards the opposite side. If he hits an enemy, the enemy will take damage and be pushed back.

I will come up with more abilities later, or you guys can help me out!

I want the main game play of DoDo to be fun. His walking/ running animation should be hilarious, so when he comes out of the jungle to gank, it would be supper funny. I just want a hilarious penguin champion. DoDo wanting to fly was just on of the ideas, if you have a better one, let me know.

Kudos, you've managed to design a unique character. Since some months I've seen people creating penguin champions, and I can't help but shake my head. Not that I hate the idea of a penguin, I just dislike "funny" and "childsfriendly" characters. However, your concept is pretty awesome though.

I see that you've combined the penguin with some steampunk elements, which is a nice and awesome idea. The native american headwear does also fit in combination, but one thing disturbs me. While everything is theoretically perfect with the anatomy of this penguin, how about add some fantasy elements? Like more yordle-ish? (For example: Fizz comes from the deep sea, but his race might be connected to the Yordles due to similarities) Or perhaps add some details to the face. Right now it looks just a regular penguin with accessoires, but I believe that you can give it a more detailed and special touch.

Legend told of Pengu the Penguin. They all laughed when it also told of Phreak running for Presidency and so it was thought of as nothing more than a mere myth. Who's laughing now?

Well one thing is for sure, he has to have flying involved in his kit. He's a penguin for crying out loud, you cant put a Penguin in a game without having them want to fly in any way.

Anyways, yeah, my friend (and I) has wanted a penguin champion for the LONGEST time. (ever since about the Draven release) I think adding one would make him die.

I love the idea & design but I feel like he wouldn't really fit in the League, idk.

He gives me a Dawngate vibe though.

Yeah there are a lot of Urf references in the game. ranging from attack animations to summoner icons.

well Manatee s r sea aniamls found in cold areas. so r penguins. they had to be like best friends or something....

Some names I came up with Pendine, Aquaro

and an ability: Feather Flurry - DoDo takes the feathers that he has collected and throws them as a small to medium sized bomb in the shape of a round pillow, when it lands an explosion of feathers rises and persist for 3 sec. The attack does little damage compared to his other ablilities because it causes a major slow and it reduces the sight radius of all with in the AoE. The range that he can throw the bomb is 1000? (im not good with values) and the AoE when the bomb lands is 300. The slow could persis even when the enemy leaves the radius, but the sight reduction would not. The fuse for the bombs cast animation could be what lets you know this ability uses Fuel? IDK but the bomb is designed t explode on contact with an enemy or the ground. Or it could be a charged bomb its you choice.

also you could make his penguin feathers look a bit like fur, and give his feet a more yordle-ish look to make him more yordle-ish if your gonna do that, also good luck on your Riot internship, I wish I was as lucky as good, make the best of it!

I really like this idea, especially because

  1. It's a non-human champ that is not dark and mysterious! Why so much darkness with new champs as of late? I'd love to see some more bright and cheery champs on the Rift!
  2. LoL needs more champs like Teemo that have the reputation for being cute but really strong depending on the scenario (and also massively loved and disliked at the same time by the community at large). I can't speak for other players, but I'd love to see other champs compete with Teemo for being the butt-end of jokes (and I mean that in the best way possible)!

On a separate note, I think you did a fantastic job on the concept art. Your choice of colors and Native American elements makes him unique, lovable, cute, and funny all at once! You are truly talented!

I think he'd need a basic damaging ability if he's going to be a jungler (assuming he's waddling out of the jungle because he's farming there). Maybe something like Vi's E or Morde's E.

Fiery Flap: DoDo uses the burners on his wings to singe all targets in a cone in front of him. [Does some extra burn DoT?] Pushes Dodo back a short distance [Only on hit?]. short cooldown.

I get the impression this guy's going to be pretty mobile, so his damage, CDs, or survivability will have to be scaled down to compensate, but an ability like this gives him a little straight-up punch in the jungle.

Edit*: Oh that's totally what Jet in your Face is, huh. Let's try again:

I think he could use a weapon. I mean, Penguin bodies aren't exactly built for attacking things: wings break, webbed toes rip, even body slams are a little complicated when you've got all that junk on your body. Maybe a small sword and shield? Maybe the sword can have some icy properties?

If we do THAT, then he gets a short-cd attack option:

Slip n Slice: DoDo 'dodges' the next basic attack or ability [as best a penguin of his nature can], taking [50%] of the intended damage. His next autoattack deals 50% extra damage (calculated after bonus AD, etc.) and slows for .5 seconds. [3] second cooldown.

I dont really like the idea of penguin with a sword, but i see where your coming from CC Shepherd, and I like that ability you came up with, instead of a sword there could be blades at the ends of his wings or the jets, but i just dont see him with a sword, I think it ruins the cuddliness

on the topic of the bomb, i meant for the explosion to do the damage, but the feathers are there for the slow and sight radius reduction (the feather cloud persist after the explosion so the enemy wouldnt be able to see, and the feathers would slo them down). U did want him to kind of a assassin right? these effects to the spell (its more for utility but you can up the damage if you want) would help him sneak up on them, and then because they are slowed he can use belly slide to get in their face when they least expect it, then use jet in your face as a disengage if he cant handle it, and a to do some damage, then fly and bomb to chase and finish them off. I just created a great combo!

You could give him something like a fur scarf or a fur frilled jacket? You could possibly just add some fur to the edges of his armament such as his shoulder pads, to give him that fur aspect.

Dodo's Q (Let's slide) could be a sliding attack, with a tooltip about the length of Nocturne's shadow path thing, he could knock up the first minion/enemy champion he hits and leave an ice trail which ally champions can slide on and provides a small movement speed bonus. His w (Feathers!) could be a cone where he throws feathers that he's collected (like Ashe volley) and does damage similar to volley and slows. So far that's all I could come up with, (making abilities is way harder than I thought haha). Good luck with your concept and I hope to see your champion walking the rift soon~

well penQuinn can definitely be ruled out of the name options. Not sure if Zilean would approve. He doesn't like the fact that Volibear was allowed into the League. I like the concept. Maybe one of his abilities could use egg bombs. I don't know why, but i feel like he could have pun synergy with Volibear and Singed if his name was Flip. Maybe something along the lines of "They should call you flop" when voli tosses him.
