An actual Sniper concept

So I know, we have Caitlyn, but she doesn't seem like a legitimate sniper to me. To me Snipers are all about stealth and lining up that perfect shot, they prefer to work alone which leaves them pretty vulnerable to being overwhelmed by a force that is more awesome than their last resort combat skills can handle. But when all else fails, they can call in the cavalry. So without anymore babbling, this is my idea to you. No name yet, WIP.


Passive- Element of surprise: Your damage critically strikes enemies that cannot see you.

Q- Take aim: _Holding Q causes you to kneel and sight in. Vision is reduced to line of sight, range is greatly increased. Releasing Q fires in target direction dealing physical damage to enemies hit; penetrates minions but stops at first enemy champion hit. _(your line of sight is marked with a red laser)

W- Close Quarters: Passive:_ Your Q gains armor penetration when enemy below 35% HP. _ Active-_ Unleashes a barrage of attacks dealing physical damage and disarming target while granting increased movement speed for 2 seconds. Disarmed targets are unable to attack for the duration._

E- Bouncing Betty: Places proximity mine that sets and stealths after .5 seconds. When tripped it explodes slowing all enemies within range and launches out 8 projectiles that reveal a small radius where they land for 8 seconds. Projectiles that hit enemies deal magic damage and reveal them for the duration.

R- Reinforcements: Throws smoke grenade to target location, after short delay chopper arrives laying down supressing fire and dropping off reinforcements. (You start with unique item: Radio, activate Radio and use on allied champion to perform comms check. The chosen ally champion is your reinforcement. When smoke grenade is thrown, ally will be given prompt to get in helicopter and answer the call. If they choose not to accept the prompt after 3 seconds you will only receive covering fire.)


Essentially, your job is to set up shop somewhere with nothing but your traps to give you heads up to get out of dodge or even turn on the offensive and make them regret wandering into the wrong backyard. Your laning phase will be your weakest phase, mainly because the enemy is going to know where you are and can do more to close in on you(what good is a sniper that everyone knows the position of?) However when team fighting erupts, you have the opportunity to prowl the jungle in search of the perfect vantage point to cover your team or pick off stragglers.

Let me know what you guys think, enough feedback and I'll start going into more detail with everything and probably bust out some drawings for you. If you have any questions/gripes/concerns just lay it on me.

Passive: Brutally unfair; you shouldn't take damage from an invisible source. Q: Like Jhin's W or Cait's Q. W: Basically sounds like MF's E, with the disarm. E: Jhin's E [which also reveals champs] R: Doesn't make sense [Why wouldn't a sniper's ult be a finisher? Also snipers are probably unlikely to be the ones to call in reinforcements IRL.]

Sorry for the criticism but these things exist already.

The ult seems really interesting but it and the w seem kind of out of place with his playstyle. Though I guess the ult kind of works to make him being mia even more Scary. The q is really fitting along with the passive. Overall I like the whole sniper play style but you may want to change the w to help his play style. Maybe something to help him break enemy line of sight or snipe people? Q, r, and e are all really cool though.

A very interesting premise, but I feel like this concept has a big problem. It isn't really connceted to your design skills, but rather to the fact that Teemo, Cait and Jhin do overlapp with the Sniper fantasy quite a lot already.

Passive: Does that mean that attacking champions doesn't reveal you ? I also have some concerns about clarity, but since your skills are telegraphed that is less of a problem.

Q-Ability: Although it does differ from existing skills, as it is more of an execute tool it does remind me a bit too much of Cait. Especially the fact that the bullet can be intercepted and your character winds up the shot with a red indicator makes it look very similiar to her Ultimate.

W-Ability: Might mention the fact that it is melee. It does feel very odd to have such an ability on a Marksman though. Can't really imagine how such a skill would work on magic users or fist fighters, since you have no weapon to break there.

E-Ability: Feels very similiar to Jhin's E (trap with delayed explosion and vision) to be honest.

Ultimate: A free teleport for an ally sounds a bit strong, especially if it has global range (which it sounds like) I also don't see how this is supposed to help the Sniper fantasy.
