[Champion Concept] Bane, the Blighted.

Bane is a poison mage who is capable of inflicted a large amount of damage over a long period of time. Now, I know there's already a 'poison mage' in the form of Cassiopeia but to be honest, she isn't so much a poison mage as a spam your e champion (still love her though).

Bane is a male, of a rather average build and appears to be in his late 20s. His hands are pitch black, as are his eyes. He has a black mohawk and dresses in a tattered leather sleeveless trenchcoat, with armoured boots and legs. His voice is normal, but sounds pained/gurgled (think the Daedra from Oblivion, but slightly higher pitched). Now, his kit;

Role: Mage/Assassin.

Passive - Blighted: Enemies that come within a 220 (increases by 10 with each level) unit radius take 3xBane's level true damage a second. At level 18, it has the same range as a sunfire cape. Additonally, if Bane is poisoned he gains +15 health regeneration for 5 seconds when it wears off (twitch's autoattacks don't count). After leveling his ult, Bane gains another aspect of his passive; 3 seconds after he dies, he oozes a toxic miasma which spreads outwards from his corpse and does 200/300/400 (increases with each point in his ult) magic damage a second and lasts for 3 seconds. However, the damage stops immediately once you leave the radius and is not be reapplied if you enter it after leaving. This passive has a 3 minute cooldown.

Q; Taint: Skillshot that fires a sickening cloud of black mist forward. It passes through units, the first one struck is poisoned and takes (15/25/35/45/55) (+.6 Ability power) a second for 5 seconds. Every target struck after than has the duration reduced by 1 second, and if it hits more than 5 targets those hit by it only recieved the first tick. It has the potential to cause large harm to an enemy team but as it moves slowly, it is easily avoided.

Missle Speed: 600 Range: 1200 Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 Cost: 60/70/80/90/100

W;** Plague:** Bane creates a crippling field of contaminated air. Those inside it have their movement speed reduced by (25/30/35/40/45%) and attack speed reduced by 20/30/40/50/60, and take 10/15/20/25/30% more damage from poison ticks until they leave the field. It both makes his Q easier to land and more damaging if it does. The increased poison damage only effects poison's applied inside the field, so hitting someone with the Q and then using Plague will not increase the damage. Plague increases poison damage dealt by other champions and also stacks with cassiopeia's E.

AoE Range: 850 Cooldown: 20s/18s/16s/14s/12s. Cost: 50/70/90/110/130

E; Debilitate: Bane instantly inflicts a unqiue poison on an enemy champion. This poison deals (10/17.5/ 25/32.5/40) (+ 10% AP) damage each 0.5s for 3 seconds, but it also deals 1 bonus true damage for each 3 points of health the target is missing. It recalculates with each tick, meaning if the target had 1000 health, the first tick would bring them down to 990 health, and the next tick would deal another 10 damage, plus 3 true damage. And the next, another 10 plus 6 true damage and the third another 10 plus 12 true damage. It is an execute and is much more effective when used on a target with low health. If debilitate kills a champion, it's cooldown is reduced by half.

Range: 400 Cooldown: 25/24/22/21/20 Cost: 70/80/90/100/110

R; Embrace the End: Bane moves towards an enemy champion at high speeds (similar to Vi's ultimate) and leaves a trail of sickening bile behind him, which deals 40/60/80 (+5% AP) a second to those who walk on it, the trail lasts for 5 seconds. While soaring towards the chosen target, Bane is immune to crowd control/any disables, save for his own death. If he reaches the target, he places his hands on them and poisons them for 300/400/500 (+150% AP) over 10 seconds. The target is increasingly slowed by 5% with each tick as well as having their magic resistance reduced by 3 for each tick.

Range: 1000 Cooldown: 200/150/100 Cost: 100/200/300


Pros; -Bane can deal a large amount of damage over an extended period to many enemies. -He can use his full combo to almost 100% confirm a kill on his desired target. -Even when he dies, he can still deal huge amounts of damage.

Cons; -Very mana hungry, especially in early game - a item 3028 / item 3174 is almost essential. -While his ult deals a huge amount of damage, the victim and their team still have time to help them, be it with a Zhonyas, a well timed Soraka/Kayle/Zilean ult, etc. The intended victim can even qss/zhonyas/spellshield his ult before he reaches them, cancelling the main portion of the damage. -His long cooldowns mean that if he misses, he is vulerable. -The victim of his ultimate is still able to perform actions while infected, so if he does it to the Marksman, they may still have time to kill him or someone else in his team.

Just some small snippets of dialogue.

Upon selection: "Wither... wither and decay."

Upon starting a game on Summoner's Rift: "So much growth. So much life. No more."

Attacking: "Agony." "Your end is beginning." "The venom calls you to your grave." "End."

Moving: "Each step brings them closer to death." "Soon." "Their end approaches." "The air will blacken." "Hmph." "This world will wither."

Joke: "You? Stop... me? Don't make me lau- Bane vomits black bile" "You make me sick. Bane vomits black bile" "Hey! I'm toxin to you! Hahah- Uhg Bane vomits black bile (play on the words talking to you)

Taunt: "Let it take you..." Bane becomes enveloped in a black miasma "Fighting it will not help." Bane becomes enveloped in a black miasma "You shall wither at my touch." Bane becomes enveloped in a black miasma

Upon casting Taint: "It approaches." "Decay." "Infect..."

Upon casting Plague: "Inhale." "Crawl." "Choke and die."

Upon castng Debilitate: "Cry." Bane's voice is deep, and echoey "You cannot escape your fate." "Your end is nigh."

If Debilitate kills an enemy champion: "laughs" "Another one falls to dust." "Another victim of the blight."

Upon casting Embrace the End: "EMBRACE THE END" - His voice is deep, echoey and sickened.

Upon dying: "Thank... you..." - Dry, pained voice. "Finally." - Dry, pained voice. "It... ends..." - Dry, pained voice.

When Bane dies, he falls onto his hands and knees, before falling onto his chest. If his passive is proc'd, he will turn into a black puddle and the dark purple/blue miasma will ooze from his location of death.


I'd seriously love some feedback on this concept/champion, he's an idea that has been swirling around in my head for quite some time.

this guy is cool. I do feel that there may be too much true damage in his kit though. Some true damage is cool, but i dont know about any champions who have 2 chances to apply it, correct me if im wrong though. Also while i really like how his kit would look in the game, I think that Debilitate could be more interesting. Otherwise, he is actually really cool, and your are meeting an arch type not really created yet

Singed, and Cassio aren't really straight poison, right?

so how does he apply the poison, lunge and grab them by the throat? Does he throw something?

I dont really know how to make E more interesting at this point, but it would help if you explain how Bane currently instantly inflicts a unqiue poison on an enemy champion. Think about how he does it, is it melee, close range, mid range, long range? How does he apply the poison, targeting animation? Once i know how he does it now, ill know how to help improve it.
