My Champion Concept (Claire, The Tainted Hero)

I've been working on this Champion for about a month or so now, and eventually got around to typing up her Lore and Abilities and tried drawing her

Here's what I have so far, Let me know your thoughts about her, I tried to keep the Abilities fairly basic because I didn't want to go overboard

EDIT: After some feedback, I figured I'd type out the Abilities (In better detail and changed up a bit... Probably)

Passive: Gain 30% Tenacity when below 40% HP. Pretty self explanatory

Q: Attack Stance (Think of it like Udyr's Stances but there's only two) Passive: Increases Total AD and AP by 5% Q Second cast: Omega Strike Active: Strike an enemy for 10% of their max HP, deals bonus true damage against barriers

W: Defence Stance Passive: Increases total Armour and MR by 5% W second cast: Counter attack When hit by an empowered Auto attack (Such as Nasus' Q, Jax's W, Aatrox's Passive) Stagger the enemy (Staggering would be an effect unique to Claire, where if an enemy hits her with an empowered Auto attack, when she blocks she will stun the enemy and lower the resistances temporarily) And counter attack the enemy

E: Shield Strike Claire Dashes forward, if she hits an enemy champion they are stunned for 2 seconds E While in Ult: Blast Wave Claire Punches the ground sending out three blast waves, Knocking up and slowing all enemies hit (So basically like a Mini braum ult)

R: Unbound Power Claire takes on a Powered up form (Like Aatrox's World Ender) Upon casting she knocks back and stuns all enemies close to her R second cast: Darkin Flare Claire sends out a sphere of energy at a target location, dealing more damage at the centre of the blast (So kinda like Zigg's ultimate)

Claire was born and raised in Demacia. she Idealised her father: A famed warrior in the Dauntless Vanguard, And captain before Garen took up the role. Claire dreamed of joining the Dauntless Vanguards to fight along side her father, though that day was not able to come to pass, Her father passed away before she had the chance. She tried not to show that it upset it, and still strived to become one of the Dauntless Vanguards, But wanted to make her father proud, Once she became a Dauntless Vanguard, she planned to go even higher, and be recognised as a powerful beacon of hope to the people of Demacia, she wanted to be their “Hero”

Claire made friends with other Demacians as she rose in the ranks, She became close friends with Luxanna Crownguard, and friendly rivals with Lux's Brother and her Captain Garen, Claire and Garen mutually respected each other and both trained to be better than each other, Garen used a single handed sword, whereas Claire would use a Sword and Shield, like her father.

Biography: Claire fought in many battles, Never faltering, Never backing down, and Always giving it everything she had, in time she was recognised by the people of Demacia as “The Hero of Demacia” but never took up the position of Captain, she wanted Garen to stay in that position, due to not wanting to take that away from him.

Her dream attained, and hoping she made her Father proud, she was at the top and swore to always be the Hero Demacia saw her as

Story: The fall of Demacia's Hero

It was an event I will never forget, one foolish mistake that cost me everything. I heard a voice, something calling my name from outside Demacia's walls. I grabbed my sword and shield and went to investigate, I walked into the Petricite forests, The voice was getting louder, not much louder but it went from a faint whisper to a regular voice, Who... or what this was, I didn't know. I eventually found the source of the calling. A Grey and Red greatsword, with a glow that emanated from around what would be the guard of the blade. It groomed me into picking it up, telling me of all the things it could help me do, Protect people, Be an immortal Hero... But I never thought of the catch, as soon as I touched the handle of the blade, my life was put in more peril than it had been in any battle I had fought in before.

As soon as I wrapped my hand around the handle, My heart skipped a beat, a surge of evil, dark energy began seeping into me, like a virus it tried taking over me, but I did everything I could to resist it, I screamed in agony, but I couldn't loosen my grip from the sword, I could feel the darkness clawing it's way ever further into my soul, I did everything I could to resist it, and eventually managed to let go of the sword, It dropped to the floor, I struggled to breath my vision was going blurry and eventually all went dark, I collapsed in front of the cursed blade.

I woke up to Lux holding me in her arms, she came looking for me after she had heard the screaming, She found me in the Petricite Forest where I collapse, but the sword was no where to be seen. She told me “It must've been a dream” and with me in the state I was; accepted what she said, and went back to Demacia with her.

The next day, Garen and I were training, all felt normal, but then I felt a head splitting ringing in my head, I fell to the ground. Dark clouds began to envelope the sky, and a dark energy... The same energy from the sword began to take over my body, I screamed in anguish, it felt like my soul was being ripped away from me, and soon, I became a Prisoner in my own body. The demon that was inside that blade took control... and all I could do was watch, It struck out at Garen sending him into a wall like he was nothing, it cackled maniacally and let loose a ring of dark flames. Members of the Dauntless Vanguard came to fight what I had become, but they couldn't stop it, It defeated them all effortlessly, but Garen refused to back down and kept fighting. As Garen held it off, Lux came out and saw what was happening... This Demon saw Lux and knew Garen and I were close to her. It crushed Garen into the floor, and walked towards Lux, and Raised my blade preparing to Strike, I couldn't let her get hurt and tried to get control of my body again, I told Lux to not hold back, and use everything she had to take it... and me out, She hesitated slightly but let loose a Final Spark against me, I somehow survived. Maybe it was the Demons energy? I don't know. But it's hold over me was gone and I fell to the floor I woke up several days later I awoke in a holding cell, Stripped of my sword, Shield, and Armour. With cuffs around my wrists, All I could do was wait for whatever fate had in store for me. After a while Garen walked in and Opened my cell, I looked up at him, His face said it all. He told me I was to be executed for what happened; To ensure what happened before hand doesn't happen again. I accepted my fate, Knowing it would be for the greater good of Demacia.

I was walked out to where I would be executed; people had gathered to watch, I awaited for my death, and hope it would be quick, The Executioner Raised his Axe, he didn't want to do it but knew he had to... and in his moment of Hesitation it came out, as the Axe was about to hit my neck, that Dark Aura cloaked me and the axe's blade shattered. My Body raised and faced the Executioner, The demon had taken control again, The Executioner swung his axe again, but It caught it and ripped it away from him and threw it down, It said I would be it's Vessel for it's Quest... It's Quest of Oblivion... This thing wanted to end the world as we know it, but it wasn't at full strength: Due to me resisting the Cursed Swords The dark soul that resided in the blade had fragmented, a Piece of it's Soul was inside of me.

The demon took back my Armour, My Shield, and My Sword, Then flew my body away away from Demacia. As we approached the ground I regained control of my Body, I wasn't sure whether to be grateful for being alive or regretful for not being able to stop it in time. I couldn't return to Demacia... Not until I had destroyed the Fragmented soul of this Demon from my Body; I ventured forward to find a way to purge it from me. I was a Hero to Demacia, But now I might never be again

Aatrox, You will not have me as your vessel, and I will stop you when you truly arise.
