Champions needing of new Skins. Updated list!

I have been keeping a close eye on what skins are released to a champion on a specific year. I have done my research and have concluded the following champions needing of new skins based on how long their last skin release was.

Kassadin; last skin release 2011. Kennen; last skin release 2011. Taric; last skin release 2011. Yorrick; last skin release 2011.

I understand that most of these champions are not well known or have a significant popularity with the players. However, I believe if Riot were to give a new set of skins to these champions which would renew interest in players.

Any thoughts on the matter or discussion is encouraged :).

The fact that 3 of those four are know to be on hold for any skin due to needed VUs. The 4th (kennen) probably should not get a skin without a VU also.

Just cause X time has passed does not mean skin is needed.

For someone that is keeping track of things; you are ignorant of some important stuff.

Uhm Kassadin already got a model update,so I'd say that he could get a new skin now.(although he could still use animation and voice updates)

But yeah Taric and Yorick won't get a new skin until their VUs and Kennen could also need a VU anyway.

I'm pretty sure only Kass is ready for a skin, what with his recent VU. Kennen still needs to fix his ostrich feet before his next skin

It was a texture and model update http://www.surrenderat20.net/2015/03/champion-update-kassadin.html So it is on the same level as the updates for Singed,Maokai or the one that Miss fortune is going to get(and MF is getting a new skin,so Kassadin should be able to get one too)

It may not be a full VU,like Gangplanks or Tristanas,but it is definetly more than just a simple texture update.

That is my point i vaguely remember a post from a RED saying that Kass is in line for a full VU. The TU is was just cause of the overall pass for everyone. They were talking about what kass should look like and traits pre void should and should not have. A lot of champs are getting clean up that Kass got in 5.5

I could be wrong, but that is what i remember. And if i am right no skin till the full VU

Now that you mention it,I think I know what you mean.

The update for Kassadin was only done because someone from Riot made it almost entirely in his/her freetime,so they included it into the game,simply because it was better than the old model.

However I doubt that this would prevent Kassadin from getting a skin.I mean his base model was updated which gives Riot more creative space when doing a skin and I doubt that they'll change his base design so drastically that they'd have to completely redo any new skins.

I mean Eve for example also got a skin,despite the fact that she is gonna get a major VU.

Eve was just cause the rig was simple and it has almost no changes outside of the actual look of the model. It is a 750 for a reason and riot felt that it would be easy to update latter as it is a 750. The skin covers liek 85% of her body so a lot will not have to change

They were talking about legs for kass instead of weird floating leg less humanoid. If they are going to give the void walker definable features a lot will have to change. Right now his most identifiable features are triangle sword, no legs and purple.

Any VU (opinion) will drastically change any skin even a 520 RP one.

Well currently his shape is mostly defined by his laser blade and triangle lower half(the helmet is actually missing in his pre-void skin). While the lower half would require some changes,the top half could most likely remain unchanged.

And i kinda doubt that kassadins VU is anytime soon(since his MTU made him better looking),so I think he could still get a skin,even if it would need to be adjusted to his VU,once that gets finished.

nope, it was a totally new model and rig, full VU, just a similar appearance.

I am just pointing out the years in which their latest skins were released compared to other champions. I read that a Texture update is needed (now completed for all) until a skin is in the works. I remember Riot saying that all champions have a skin currently being worked on which is great but if it takes 4 years in the making makes me assume they didn't bother to finish the job and move onto other things.

And yes it does matter. Remember how everyone complained that Zac was in need of a new skin because he only had 1 skin in 2013? Riot accommodated those demands by giving Zac a new skin + chroma pack.

Having newer skins to older champions is important because it renews interest in playability for the champion. In addition, this fact is important in keeping game play diverse and having a selection of other champions.

Don't you noticed that the more popular the champion is the more likely they are to received a skin?

no and i disagree. I think that the artist make skins for the champs they like and or for the champs that they have a good idea for.

Thanks for posting the skin amounts!

But I would delete Kennen's skin count to 3 instead of 5 since two of them are recolor (eg-chroma pack in today)

Yeah,that's not a Kennen exclusive issue.A number of the older have what would now be considered chromas as skins. But I would still count them because Riot could give a champ like Kennen a VU.Which would give them the chance to make the recolor skins into actual skins like what they did with Trist & her Riot Girl skin.

If you still want to not count recolors,then just don't count them as skins.
