Ivern: The forgotten champion :(
I have noticed that Ivern
is really the only support version of a jungler and despite his impressive camp clearing potential in the right hands he is probably the least played champion in the game. I know that Riot doesn't create a champion that it knows will not be played, (because then why create it?) so why hasn't a fix or change been done?
I enjoy playing him but it needs to be in the right group. When I say right I mean people who I know and play knowing that the jungle is a support. Though he is not flashy in anyway and really needs to be made a contender as a pick for jungle, if that is where he was intended to be, and if not then his kit needs to be changed so that he is viable in another role. As he stands, he really only belongs in the role of a jungler and is near if not the lowest played champion for his role.
I am asking for some sort of action mainly because I hate to see that there is a champion that is near useless in the game. I do have some ideas, but I know that there are better suited individuals that can suggest so by all means please add what you think. I am always available as a proverbial chalk board.
Idea(s):
[W] - **Brushmaker **
-
Have the creation of the brush to give sight and increased bonus damage like normal. But after it's existence time has normally expired it grows/spawns a sort of seed of Ivern (acorn perhaps) that counts a vision in that area lasting longer than that of a normal yellow ward (150 seconds) that can be destroyed for gold or possible damage to Ivern. This will increase the value of using Ivern's Brushmaker ability and allow him to use a different type of warding item at the beginning of the game. Also if you somehow use his planted seeds (acorns) as a type of charm, similar to that of the Bard Champion, it could increase his max health for Him or Daisy.
-
Have the brush either poisonous for enemy champions to walk through (at the sighted beginning of cast) and cause them to be slowed when passing through (after the sighted beginning is completed). Not only will this increase the use of this ability by Ivern players, but it will allow for a deterrent for those outside the team to use it for cover both as soon as it is being cast and after.
[E] - **Triggerseed **
-
Same essential idea behind the ability, but allow for the shield to be stronger when cast on Ivern rather than other teammates. (Double in strength maybe) He is near useless when in the midst of team fights and having only two abilities to cast and wait for doesn't help his completely immobile frolic pace. Doubling his shield cast on himself could make him for viable to enter team fights.
-
Same essential idea behind ability cast on friendly characters, but allow for the cast of shield on enemy champions. This shield will slow the enemy champion and instead of damaging upon explosion it will slightly heal all allied Ivern champions within melee range blast radius of shielded champion.
[R] - **Daisy! **
- Spawn Daisy and control her as your new champion/form. (Choose a place to re-spawn after her expiration as your previously played Ivern) You are now Daisy and have a new set of abilities. Your timer of 80 seconds starts as soon as spawned. This will remove issues and excuses of Daisy bugging out and put blame and skill directly onto the player of the champion. She will move like the player would and cast as soon as the player would. It would be the tank that the team could need for team fight engages or the last little pressure for that tower. To keep players from just running down lane there could be an option to damage your Ivern based upon the damage your Daisy takes while alive. If she dies completely before her timer goes off then anywhere from a 70-90% damage hit to Ivern's current health would be fair. But if she is spawned and not destroyed before her timer then a lower damage hit based on her last standing health would be in order.
Anyway, let me know what you think and feel free to add more ideas. I don't know really where to start offering suggestions, but if you don't contribute then you are not helping so comment below and let us know.
