Why is she purple now? That new splash is the best in the game, and now it doesn't refer to any champion. I assume one or the other is going to be changed, and I would just like to say that it should be the model. Tristana's blue. She just is.

How will that work?
Splash art has many layers, and since they're done digitally with a tablet, it's pretty easy to change the look of a splash (although it still takes a good chunk of time), without needing to start completely over.

If I recall, before Master Yi received his visual update he received a new splash with his new look which was then before release or even mention of his update.
Surely her update and splash must have been worked on concurrently.

I'm actually not sure the answer of this one. D: I'm not on Champion Update, so I haven't been working closely with Trist.
Solideus1 votesActually the splash doesn't match Yi's VU look completely, it's based on what he looked like before. He wasn't changed as much so it's less noticeable, that's probably why they thought it was okay to leave it like it is.
Solidair31 votesI don't have a link to it, but I recall that, at the time, Riot explicitly stated that the splash was based on his new appearance. Even if there are minor differences that may have come up before his update was released.
Solideus1 votesWell, the splash doesn't match him post-VU. Almost all of his armour has substantially different design; compare his splash to his current model.
Even if they had his upcoming VU in mind when they made Yi's splash the VU design wasn't finished, just like what happened with Tristana now.

So... was there any reason that the current splash didn't already look like her VU? I mean, they weren't released that far from each other, the art team must've known where Tristana was headed visually. The only thing I can think of is that her design changed pretty drastically from the release of the splash to the release of her VU.

Yordle Xayah1 votesI'm more concerned about the other skin Splash Arts than anything else. Only Ashe saw a Re-Vamp of all her skins when she got a face-lift... so now we have the splash for Phantom 
looking NOTHING AT ALL like the ingame model, and this has been going for a while with other champions that only have their Normal Splash updated.
All Tristana Skins' splash are going to look very dated now, SPECIALLY Riot Girl, since that is actually now a totally different (and my favorite!) skin, but the splash for that is just a recolor... of the OLDER NORMAL Tristana splash art.
