#Ghu'Rei, The Void's Dichotomy

Ghu'Rei are in fact a dual entity from the Void, formed of the individual humanoid halves Lai'Eet and Daa'Erc. Lai'Ett is a light purplish grey whereas Daarc is a dark purplish grey. They are both rather short of stature, and share a single mind. Because of this, they find it easier to let one half take a dominant role while the other sits back. The visual effect of this is that one is always on the other's shoulders. While Lai'Ett is on top, Ghu'Rei wear a silver tabard that all but conceals Daa'Erc, whereas when Daa'Erc is on top, Ghu'Rei wear a dark iron colored tabard that all but conceals Lai'Eet.

You may note now that they act and look considerably more "human" than any of the Voidborn. It is important to note that while the Voidborn are otherworldly and grotesque, there is a large degree of variation between them, so beyond the common aesthetic, they are all but completely different from each other, and I feel that this variation would account for such an entity as Ghu'Rei. Their personality and the development of their humanity - to the degree that they do - are somewhat addressed in their lore (see below).

Passive - Essence of Shadow Whenever Ghu'Rei casts an ability in Daa'Erc's Dominance, a Shadow Mote is created over them. *Shadow Mote: * This is a ball of, well, shadow that locks onto a nearby enemy target and flies towards it. When it hits its target, the target takes a small amount of damage and gets slightly slowed for a short duration. This slow stacks up to three times.

Passive - Essence of Light Whenever Ghu-Rei casts an ability in Lai'Eet's Dominance, a Light Mote is created over them. *Light Mote: * This is a ball of - you guessed it - light that locks onto a nearby ally and flies towards it. When it hits its target, the target gets healed a small amount and gets a small amount of bonus movespeed for a short duration. This bonus movespeed stacks up to three times.

Q - Blightstomp All enemies in a small region around Ghu'Rei take damage. The region in which Blightstomp was cast then deals the same amount of damage over the duration of a few seconds before returning to normal ground. While in this area, enemies get a slightly decreased movement speed.

Q - Consecrate All allies in a small region around Ghu'Rei get healed. The region in which Consecrate was cast then heals the same amount over the duration of a few seconds before returning to normal ground. While in this area, allies get a slightly increased movement speed.

W - Flog Target nearby enemy is rooted for a couple seconds and takes damage over time. Shadow Motes will prioritize this target above all others for the duration of the root.

W - Scourge Deals a small amount of damage to Ghu'Rei in order to place a shield on target ally (can target Ghu'Rei). Light Motes will prioritize this target above all others for the duration of the shield.

E - Enshroud Enemies in an area around Ghu'Rei have reduced vision radius and cannot receive vision from their allies. This effect lasts a couple seconds. The area stays centered around where it was initially cast, even if Ghu'Rei moves.

E - Illuminate Reveals an area around Ghu'Rei. Enemy champions caught in this radius are revealed for a couple seconds after the vision fades. The area stays centered around where it was initially cast, even if Ghu'Rei moves.

R - Lai'Eet's Dominance Ghu'Rei switches from Daa'Erc's "form" into Lai'Eet's, allowing for Lai'Eet's spells to be cast. When Ghu'Rei switches forms, three Light Motes are created around Ghu'Rei.

R - Daa'Erc's Dominace Ghu'Rei switches from Lai'Eet's "form" into Daa'Erc's, allowing for Daa'Erc's spells to be cast. When Ghu'Rei switches forms, three Shadow Motes are created around Ghu'Rei.

Ghu'Rei starts with one rank in their R. Leveling up Ghu'Rei's R improves the heal or damage of their Motes.

#Lore In the endless chaos of the Void, Ghu'Rei felt restless. They did not belong here. Here there was only mindless destruction. Ghu'Rei felt that there was more than that - but it did not know what. Over the ages, Ghu'Rei grew to resent those around them, but at the same time felt that they were simply cursed by their nature. Regardless, they never accepted the others and were never accepted by the others.

Then, by chance, they found a gap between dimensions, and stumbled upon Runeterra. Here they discovered what they were missing: the power of thought and creation. Their brighter half was inspired by these and devoted all its energies to developing its identity about these new concepts. The darker half, however, was not so accepting. Over time, Lai'Eet and Daa'Erc assumed opposite and contrasting roles: learn from the Runeterrans, and destroy the Runeterrans.

Eventually, Ghu'Rei were shunned from every society that they had encountered, but they never forgot what they had learned. While Daa'Erc's thoughtless destruction ultimately isolated them, it also allowed them to eventually find their way to the place where all the great forces of Runeterra do: The League of Legends. Now, Ghu'Rei are allowed to learn as it sees fit and indulge its destructive appetite.

#Strengths and Weaknesses Ghu'Rei are versatile by their very nature. They can provide slows and speed buffs, heals and damage. They provide excellent area denial and areal presence. Dependent upon their build, Ghu'Rei may either be a mid- or perhaps even top-laner that focuses on supporting their team late game, or just a plain support. Without playing them, though, I can't really say for certain.

Ghu'Rei's binary and ultimately opposing nature mean that while they perform almost any task adequately, they never truly excel. Additionally, the lack of a power spike of note at level 6 (that is, the lack of a true ultimate ability), leaves Ghu'Rei with an inability to truly compete against other champions later on in the game in one-on-ones. Additionally, they only have one of these aspects at a time, so they'd have to constantly switch between the two mid-fight (which would mean periods of doing nothing while there's a fight going on) in order to both help their team and hurt the enemies.'

#Quotes In Lai'Eet's Dominance "We must know more." "This world is so... different." "Never alone." "There is more out there."

In Daa'Erc's Dominance "There will only be us." "This world is too different." "Never outnumbered." "Leave us alone!"

Both "One among many." "Pieces of the whole."

#Artistic Note The voice of Ghu'Rei would be a female (Lai'Eet) and male (Daa'Erc) voice speaking in perfect cadence. Naturally, their voices would be "voidwarped" (have effects applied to them that give their voice a Void-like flavour to it), but not quite to the degree of Cho'Gath or the others.

I can see the difficulty of having an animation for their R that works well and doesn't take forever, but something as simple as one jumping down then the other jumping up could theoretically take only a second or so - which naturally would be the channel time of the swap. I think that that may work.

Ghu'Rei's weapon of choice is a whip (hence Flog and Scourge).

I may have messed it up a couple times, but the pronoun for Ghu'Rei is "they," because they are a dual entity, and thus is not a singular (it, he, she).

Feel free to ask questions or make suggestions as to Ghu'Rei's nature. The lore component is - obviously - rather underdeveloped at this moment, so please don't criticize too harshly for that. Naturally, any question or suggestion is appreciated.

Thank you for reading!

Sounds amazing man! Did you mention how Ghu'Rei will transition between Lai'Eet and Daa'Erc?

I really want to hear the two voices of them.

So, it really sounds like a great idea, but I don't know if I'm thinking right about this. They would look somewhat similar to Zac maybe, and when they jump down they get bigger, and when the other jumps up it shrinks, then disappears from sight and instead its presence is portrayed by a headband? One would be white-ish, and the other purple-ish?

And also, his main damage is in his motes, right? and do his motes stay around his head for for a certain amount of time until he can fire them?
