Champion Concept - Scat and Boggar - The Cowardly Firing Crew (ADC)
Champ Concept: ADC Zaun Scat and Boggar the Cowardly Firing Crew: Boggar is a troll outcast, having fled from trundle's tribe after years of being bullied for being the runt. Smaller than the other trolls and far too weak to heft a club, he teamed up with Scat, a yordle who never hit his growth spurt, to form a 2 man firing crew. Scat sticks with Boggar in his backpack and waits until he's needed to help unload 'The Big 'Un'.
Scat and Boggar are a caster marksmen champion, played in the ADC role in the botlane. With decent poke and a propensity for running away, they'll truly shine when allowed to use their ultimate unhindered in teamfights. Late game, they have incredible range for strategic poking, however in a close-up fight, will lag behind most other ADC's in terms of raw damage output. Bringing a mix of poke, crowd control and mobility, they will flee from enemies all the way to victory. Proper use of their ultimate can lay waste to an unorganised enemy team, however it leaves them open to a quick and immobile death if used in the wrong place at the wrong time.
AA Range: 500 Ability Order: R>Q>E>W
Passive - Look What I Found: Every 60 seconds, Scat forages a bomb from Boggar's backpack, handing it to Boggar who loads it into his scrap pistol, allowing him to fire a basic attack that explodes in an AOE 500 units wide, dealing normal attack damage (this AOE can crit). Hitting champions with Look What I Found will reduce the cooldown of the next shot by 10 seconds per champion hit (Max 50 seconds CDR).
Q - Wind-up: Boggar hands his scrap pistol to Scat who winds it up before handing it back to Boggar, making Boggar unable to attack for 0.75 seconds. Boggar's next attack gains 100|200|300|400|500 range and deals a bonus 2%|4%|6%|8%|10% of the target's maximum health as physical damage and slows the target by 80% for 0.25 seconds. Mana Cost: 20|30|40|50|60 CD: 14|13|12|11|10 Range: 500 + 100|200|300|400|500
W - Run Away!: Scat and Boggar lose their courage and flee directly opposite from the nearest enemy champion in a dash, travelling 500 units. If no enemy champion is within 650 units of Scat and Boggar, the spell becomes uncastable. Every time a nearby team mate dies (Within 1000 units), the cooldown is reset. Picking up Scat mid-dash after using Get In! Will reduce the remaining cooldown by 50%. When reduced to 10% health Scat and Boggar automatically cast Run Away! at no cost and without affecting its current cooldown (this effect is on a 20s CD). Mana Cost: 60|70|80|90|100 CD: 25|23|21|19|17 Range: 500 units
E - Get In!: Scat dives into Boggar's pistol and is fired at a nearby enemy before ricocheting 300 units directly behind Boggar. This shot causes a micro knockback for 0.25 seconds. Scat will stay dazed on the ground for 3 seconds before returning to Boggar, but can be picked up by Boggar in that time. Until Scat is returned, Boggar is unable to use Look What I Found, Wind-up or The Big 'Un. Mana Cost: 50|60|70|80|90 CD: 18|16|14|12|10 from when Scat is returned to Boggar. Range: 525 Damage: 80|100|120|140|160 + 20% AD Ratio
R - The Big 'Un: Scat and Boggar Channel for 1 second and unpack their gattling gun from Boggar's backpack, interruptable by hard CC but not damage. (If interrupted then 50% of the CD is refunded). When the channel ends they will have finished unpacking their gattling gun emplacement, and for the next 5 seconds will fire a continuous stream of projectiles (firing at the mouse but limited to a cone area in the direction the ability was cast) at max atk speed dealing 50% of their normal attack damage (these projectiles can also crit). The projectiles stop on the first enemy hit and have a range of 1000 units. Run Away! can be cast during the ultimate, but it will cancel the remaining duration and offer no refund on the cooldown. Run Away! is the ONLY way to cancel the duration of The Big 'Un. If an enemy champion is within 200 units of Scat and Boggar during their ultimate they will cower in fear and be unable to shoot until the enemy or enemies leave their immediate vicinity (while cowering, Scat and Boggar gain 50% damage reduction. If they are cowering at the point when their ultimate ends, they will automatically cast Run Away! at no cost and without affecting its current cooldown. Mana Cost: 100|100|100 CD: 120|110|100 Range: 1000 Units Cast time: 1s
Playstyle, Combos, Strengths and Weaknesses:
Scat and Boggar like to play it safe, as far away from enemies as possible. Utilising Q to poke from range and a mixture of W and E, they can generally keep enemies at arm's length in order to whittle them down with slow but powerful shots from Boggar's scrap pistol.
Scat and Boggar's Q and passive can be used together to provide some AOE poke or waveclear from a distance, clearing a grouped wave or punishing an enemy team for bunching up. If a melee diver started hurtling toward the terrified two, they would combo with an E to interrupt the enemy's dash, followed immediately with W to gain some distance from their fearsome foe, allowing Boggar to pick Scat back up on the way, reducing his W cooldown by half. They would then charge a Q while kiting before letting loose, hitting the champ with a powerful shot and slowing them briefly, allowing them to continue kiting with autos until their cooldowns allowed them to cast a similar combo again.
Before teamfights, Scat and Boggar shine as artillery champs, poking with Q and passive to tally up an advantage for his team before the fight starts. during teamfights, however, they have too short a range to be able to safely have an impact. This is where their ultimate shines. Used correctly, this ultimate allows them to hunker back and spray bullets at the entire enemy team, shredding through them all and securing victory for their team.
Due to their short range, Scat and Boggar have to be in a fairly unsafe position in order to be in attack range of enemy champs. This leaves them vulnerable, especially when their only escape is on a long cooldown and at a high mana cost. During their ultimate, they're vulnerable again for a full 5 seconds, rooted on the spot and unable to move unless they can cast W. Their ultimate can also be a waste if used at the wrong time, if all of their targets leave their range then they are stuck for 5 seconds, doing nothing. If someone dives them then they cower for 5 seconds, doing nothing. If an enemy stands behind them after they cast their ultimate, this can cause them to cower and then cast Run Away! directly into the enemy team! Due to high mana costs, they will also need to be careful not to chew through too much mana or be unable to cast their crucial abilities, leaving them as lackluster auto attack champs with poor range. Improper use of W will result in Scat and Boggar running themselves into even more trouble, especially when reduced to low health or when someone flashes behind them.
