Hextech Chest Suggestions?

I have an idea that could replace the wait time for the hextech chest looting system. Why not just give the summoner the chest after playing a certain amount of games? Clearly, if people would just wait off their cooldown for the chests, it's pretty much a waste of time. Why don't summoners just work for their cooldown and also the S rank or even an A rank? It would be extremely beneficial to almost everyone, no?

Getting more chest for playing more seems like a bad idea, since it is supposed to encourage people to repeatedly go back to the game over perdiods of long times.
