Hey everyone, yesterday u/Anna_Lamb made a post on r/LeagueofLegends about a champion who is literally afraid of the dark, opposite of Nocturne, and earlier today I shared a blueprint of the kit. Now is the full refined version, lore + kit, hope you guys enjoy! Please let me know and more improvements I can do! Hoping to create fan designs of champions in the future! Hope you guys enjoy:

Tl;Drs supplied at the bottom

Diurnan, The Bringer of Light

Lore

In the distraught places of Runetarra, Diurnan struggled day in and day out to escape the terrors that ruled the dark streets. Diurnan was constantly terrified about the things around him, always looking over his shoulder. He didn't turn this way because of some traumatic event, he was always this way, but his parents abandoning him and others terrorizing him, digging into his fears and exposing it, did not help at all. It is hard to survive as a young boy, all alone, in Runetarra, but Diurnan was able to harvest powers of light. Light was Diurnan's only ally, and his only friend. He was able to use it to protect himself through difficulties. As people became known of Diurnan's power they regarded his as a Celestial and strayed away from his path. While Diurnan was regarded as a Celestial by the public, other Celestials did not see him this way since he did not protect others with his light, only himself, as he could no longer trust anyone in this world. Not much is known of Diurnan, but one thing is for certain, you do not want to be caught in the face of his light.

Kit

Passive - Stay Aware!

  • Diurnan carries three candles with him, for each candle he has on him, a larger radius of vision surrounds him. (3 candles = Vision surrounding him that could be similar to size of Akali's shroud, 2 candles = the size of Aurelion Sol's passive, 1 candle = the size of Morgana W(the pool) around Diurnan).

  • When Diurnan is walking into shadows, he gains 18 - 72 out of combat movement speed(Scales from levels 1 - 18)

Q - Luminous Glimmer

Cooldown: 9.5/8.5/7.5/6.5/5

Diurnan shoots out a ray of light dealing 60/80/100/120/140(+70% Ability Power) damage to all champions, monsters and minions in its path. Luminous Glimmer leaves a circle of light at the end of the ray. Any enemies standing in this circle for more than .5 seconds is blinded. The circle remains on the ground for 3 seconds at all ranks.

The size/range of this can be compared to Shyvana's Fire ability when she is a Dragon. Could be lengthier if wanted to be more poke heavy

W - Light the Way

Diurnan can set his candles down. When his candles are set they give off vision, the same radius as a ward. Candles can not be destroyed by enemy champions, but their vision can be canceled. Candles last for 3/3.5/4/4.5/5 minutes. Candles may be picked up.

This does not take up how many wards you can have placed on the map

E - Aureola

Cooldown: 35/30/25/20/15 seconds

Diurnan shoots a global ray of light that gives vision for 4/5/6/7/8 seconds. If this light hits an enemy champion, the one closest to Diurnan is snared for 1/1.3/1.6/1.9/2.2 seconds.

Similar in size to Lux ult, maybe a bit wider

R - Blazing Glare

Cooldown - 130/110/90 seconds

Diurnan draws from inside of him the powers of light, giving global vision for 5/6/7 seconds. Also, enemies in a radius surrounding Diurnan are blinded(This radius would be similar in size to Morgana ult) by the overbearing light. This blind is not like Graves/Quinn/Q - Luminous Glimmer's blind, instead it is similar to a Call of Duty flash bang/stun grenade but the effects would be turned down to not hurt player's eyes. Instead just a white light would fill the player's screen, similar to Nocturne ult, but vision is canceled This light last for .7 seconds.

If Diurnan has 1/2/3 candles on him than the global vision lasts for 6/6.5/7 seconds(increasing by one for each level on ultimate). For example if Dirunan had 2 levels in ultimate and 3 candles than the global vision would last for 8 seconds instead of 6 seconds. Also if Diurnan has 1/2/3 candles on him than the overbearing light will last for .8/.9/1 second.

Cosmetics

  • Laugh - Has a humble laugh, kind of like a "huh... ha haa."
  • Taunt - Regular Taunt: Mock crying, acts like a baby "Wah wahhh." - Taunt to Nocturne - "Want me to turn down the lights?"
  • Dance - Diurnan refuses to dance as he has nothing to dance about, so instead he sits on the ground with his legs crossed, similar to a pretzel
  • Joke - How do you intimidate fools? With some enlightenment(Im sorry this is ass, im not good with jokes)

Lore TL;DR

Diurnan has always been afraid of everything, especially the dark. Because of the many overbearing fears he was abandoned by his parents and terrorized by others in Runetarra. This worsened his fears and Diurnan lost trust in others. This fear and distrust made Diurnan a lone wolf and from this he was able to uncover a power invested in him connected to light.

Kit TL;DR

Passive - Stay Aware!

  • Diurnan gains holds three candles, each candle increasing a radius of light that gives vision around Diurnan.

*Diurnan gains out of combat movement speed when walking into shadows(15-72 for levels 1-18)

Q - Luminous Glimmer

Diurnan fires a beam of light damaging everything in his path(Except for structures). At the end of this beam a circle of light is left behind for three seconds blinding any enemies standing on it for more than .5 seconds.

W - Light the Way

Diurnan can place down his candles that emit vision like wards.

E - Aureola

Diurnan shoots a global ray of light that gives vision of the area and if any enemies get hit by it, the closest one to Diurnan is snared.(This does no damage).

R - Blazing Glare

Diurnan gives global vision and blinds enemies that are around him. This blind is not like Graves/Quinn/His Q instead it could be compared to a CoD flashbang. The global vision and blind last longer if Diurnan has more candles on him instead of set down. I recommend you reading the full description of this ability as it can be confusing

Question: Is E too strong? This was brought to my attention. Should I change it to this:

45/40/35/30/25 second cooldown with the snare being 1/1.2/1.4/1.6/1.8 seconds

Thanks for feedback!
