$$$ CHROMA REVAMP $$$

Well lets start off with saying clearly an awesome game that has stood through the test of time. However, improvements could always be made especially when it comes to_** customization and standing out from the rest.**_ The chroma system years ago I thought was an okay idea even after nothing was happening to it for like a few months when it first started. However, I have retracted that statement long ago simply because it takes way too long to recolor a SPECIFIC SKIN of a SPECIFIC CHAMPION. Save the specifications and element of surprise for when you come up with your new skin releases. It is reasonable to make people wonder "what new ideas do they have in store ?!" NOT "which preexisting Champion and skin are they going to recolor?"

What I'm proposing ( if it has not already been mentioned within this community of imaginative folks) Keep the Chroma name but open up the feature to where people are ONE , able to recolor any part of any skin (hair eyes, skin, armor, etc ) TWO, upload their skin ideas from a custom skin tool. Charge us to upload the skin (maybe the charge for the upload can be the amount the original skin costs)! What ever the cost you may think that ultimately of course is up to you.

But the major selling point is that EVERYONE WINS. There is an increase of sales and an influx of ideas coming from a community of people in which you low key get your ideas and inspiration from any way. ALSO you still can create your awesome skins because we would still need to use your skins as a base to create or recolor whatever it is that we are imagining (Example: DAWN BRINGER RIVEN Riven costs 1820rp...one has an idea to change her hair color, skin color and her armor ...upload charge 1820rp = 3640 rp) Maybe also consider charging an IP price so those who may not be able to spend money have a chance for the opportunity...might even bring back use for ip boosters etc.

[zombie-nunu-hearts] People LOVE standing out and you RIOT are very aware of that because you have created a MOBA that still STANDS OUT from the rest like none other...and you can continue to do so by doing things like this that no other MOBA is currently thinking about.

[slayer-jinx-unamused] But doesn't Riot have to go back through everything to create a new system for the hundreds of skins released? I mean to be quite honest I wouldn't know the work that has to be done and neither do a lot of us unless we are directly associated with the team, even if we may have an inclination of what they may have to do. However, IF this were the case of it being tedious to readjust every skin in one go, use the same time it takes to release to the community "a new chroma is available " ( which takes almost just as much time to create an entirely new skin from the ground up ) and USE that time to readjust (recode/reprogram/ re-insert whatever it is you have to do here) that SPECIFIC skin so one can use the chroma system to upload their idea. All the skins do not have to be impacted all at once with this idea ( even though that is ideal).

Lastly, Well how do we deal with the toxic or troll individuals that are also apart of our community? How do we deal with possible racists slurs being written or inappropriate suggestive things being drawn on these models? You can have an approval time frame once the person uploads it and approve it before it is released into the community. There are other ways I am sure to prevent things like that from happening. We also both know that no matter how much we try to censor what people want to say, that will never change their personal morals or the fact that they still will use some hurtful like "******************************************** ******** ********** *********** *** " to get their point across.

IN short Riot, rethink this chroma situation, give people the liberty to stand out and personalize their self, and do something a little daring that no other MOBA is doing right now. Thank you for your time, item 3157

Wow, this was really thought out, but so true me and my friend Airun have been talking about this for a while I totally agree with this.

The problem with this is that if something like this is opened up to the community, you have a LOT of work.

  • You have to make sure no inappropriate content gets loaded up.
  • You have to make sure skin recolors match the professional quality expected of League of Legends.
  • You have to make skins that are easily recolored or altered by players who may not be experienced in texturing models.
  • You have to build an entire back end to support uploading and storing user-created content.
  • You have to have a quality assurance team that makes sure skins loaded don't have colors or patterns that impact game clarity.

That's actually a pretty ridiculously amount of time and effort and quality assurance devoted to simply enabling the community to recolor skins. While it's a fun idea, I think it's pretty simply just untenable with the way Riot operates at the moment, especially given the size of the community.

Its ideas like these that scream for a revamp for people to upload their ideas for a specific price.
