Latino Champions

This game has plenty of diversity in terms of racial representation, more so than most other games! But why stop there? Why not be more inclusive and add more representation? Just as an overview, here's what we've got so far:

White champions
Black champions
Asian champions
Middle Eastern champions
even a Pacific Islander

While this may be a gross over-simplification of the ethnicity of the current champions, it puts into perspective what's been done. But one ethnic group in particularly is missing, one that occupies 1/3rd of the habitable continents on this planet: Latinos! I am in no way suggesting they've been put aside intentionally, but man it'd be great if development focus on this discrepancy between what's available and what isn't. Of course, the quest for better representation will not end there as there are more than just latinos, but that would cover a lot and allow better focus on other aspects once that is addressed.

Adding in an ethnicity simply because it isn't represented isn't progress. You're shoehorning it in at that point. Riot have always said they don't add in stuff simply because they don't have it yet. There has to be a reason for it. What does this race bring? Why is their race so linked to their character they need to be added? Where exactly in Runeterra are they from that they look like this??

I want Latino champs too. I'm Asian but I've always been neighbors with Latin American people all my life. They like a breath of fresh air after hanging out with a lot of white people and Jewish people (not that I have anything against Jewish people).

Legitimate question.. what is Latino?

Like I am not sure what it is exactly. Is it Native American? or the European Spanish settlers, I mean the Spanish settlers had darker skin than typically seen in Europe, because they were Islamic in the dark ages and there was immigration through that empire. Not to mention the older Roman Empire, all roads lead to Rome and everything people from North Africa, Perisa etc.

Is it like just a massive mix of ethnicities?
that due to historical reasons have a similar cultural group.

I say that as someone of southern Italian heritage, and at some point in history my family must of been from Spain since my last name means "From Alonso" a town in Spain.

I think it would be hard to do Latino without an area of runeterra that is had a latino culture. Like is the case for Ionia, because it is a culture more than it is a race...

Race is meaningless anyway.

Maybe it could be done, but I think some people would have a hard time working out the difference between a Burnett with brown eyes and a Latino without cultural cues... and those have a habit of being stereotypes.

I agree there is no clearly Hispanic champ, but there are champs like Viktor / Caitlyn with a VERY strong accent. I suppose we could assume Fiora is french? but its a rather large assumption since people could just be born there and have the accent with a localized name. This type of champ is the thing you think is missing right? There are some skins like Bandito and El tigre, but who knows what that says about a champ's ethnic makeup? Mundo is a spanish word so why dont we talk about and consider that? And where do you think a Hispanic champ would come from? Demacia/Noxus or somewhere else?

And Karma Ekko being black is debatable. Karma could just be from India, especially with that name. IF you say she is "black" then you are saying anyone with dark/melaninated skin = black. so then anyone with non-melaninated skin = white(spanish/asian/brit/etc) which means there is no point in any of this at all because I have met plenty of "black" and "white" Spanish people both with and without accents.
