Zhang, the Flute Hermit
Backstory
Zhang lived with his wife, Aurana, in a small town near Ionia. They made a living playing a duet for passing travelers in a tavern; Zhang with his flute and his wife with an exotic stringed instrument. Aurana, who was slight and frail, became pregnant with their first child. When she died in childbirth, Zhang was overcome with grief. No longer with his duet partner and unable to earn enough to care for his newborn daughter, he left her and her mothers instrument at an orphanage in Ionia. He then went into solitude, hoping to forget the sorrow of his lost love and child.
Throughout many years, he played his flute only for himself, until he realized he could influence his surroundings with his music. Decades passed, and his abilities grew to profound strength. One day, he felt a strong compulsion to reconnect with civilization and so ventured forth. Traveling into town, he happened upon a flyer advertising a show. Upon it was a depiction of his wife's instrument and a lovely maiden with long, flowing hair. "It cannot possibly..." Zhang breathed, "this 'Buvelle' woman looks so much like Aurana."

Passive: Duet-toggle(changes songs for each?)
Temporarily bind to an ally to boost their ability power/ attack damage by 4/8/12/16/20% of your ability power. Can switch to another champion if current bound ally dies or is away for too long. Link reestablishes itself automatically when the selected ally comes back within range, and if Zhang hasn't chosen a new ally.
Q- Forte: A single note causes enemies to be pushed back a short distance(in a cone? in all directions away from him?), dealing damage, and stunning them for .5 seconds
W- Counterpoint: Passive -Zhang generates a shield, that progressively increases over time, around those who come close including himself. The shield will only start to apply if the said champion hasn't taken damage for a few seconds. Active-Zhang instantly places a shield on all allies within his radius, stacking with his passive shield.
E- Trill: Passive- Zhang's basic attacks damage all enemies(nerf to a max of two or three?) around himself for 75% ad and 25% ap. Active- Extends the radius of Zhang's basic attack for a set time, increasing the damage to 110% ad and 50% ap. (give suggestions about the ratios, but the general idea is that his basic attacks hit multiple enemies and scales off his ap)
R- Cavatina: In an area around Zhang, enemies are slowed and allies are given a speed boost, which persist for a small while after leaving the affected area. Enemies are additionally damaged over time and allies are gradually healed, as long as they stay within the radius. Zhang slows down considerably(or stops completely) to concentrate on playing.
Additional Notes
The youtube link attached to this post is a music video for a band called Rin. This piece has a flute that appeals to me, and I was thinking that it would be a nice flute for Zhang. The string instruments in it also reminded me of the etwahl.
Yes, I am heavily implying that Zhang is Sona's biological father.
As abilities may be discussed and changed, the names will be changed to reflect their nature and musical similarities.
The concept actually came to me in a dream, there a support would be able to use a flute to augment another champions ad or ap with his own ap. I can also potentially see him being a stand alone character, but many of his abilities would have to be tweaked so that it wouldn't be to much for a support and not enough for a (let's say) mid.
In my mind, I kind of picture him as a very tall, and thin, old man with long robes and a regal, white beard. If I were to put him close to someone, I would say that the closest would be The Emporer from Disney's Mulan.
His clothes would have to reflect his status, but a champion in hermit rags wouldn't be much to look at. Therefore, i think it would be best that Sona and Zhang were reunited and they now perform songs together; meaning that he'll have to wear better stage garments.
