Thunderfoot, the Storm Chief
Thunderfoot, the Storm Chief.
I had a brain fart for a name, so this is just a place holder. Any numbers that are shown are not in any way set in stone. This is mostly concept, as numbers can be changed easily.
General: Thunderfoot is meant to be a very high sustain, mana-based jungle fighter that can most likely be top lane as well. Thunderfoot excels at staying in the jungle without having to go back and is encouraged to keep fighting as long as possible.
Passive: Weathered Warrior. Every X mins you are active in combat, you get a weathered warrior point(think kha'zix evolution point) You may choose out of the following to spend the point: defense, sustain, utility. The passive stops gaining time after X seconds out of combat. If Thunderfoot dies or recalls back, he feels the comforts of settled life, losing his built up time down to the last gained weathered warrior point.
*The idea here is to reward you for constantly fighting. The better you are at maintaining combat, the stronger you will become. I am unsure if there should be a cap to the amount of points you can gain, or to create a cap where you can generally reach it at 30 minutes into the game if you're having a average game, but much earlier if you're playing him the way he is meant to be played.
I also dabbled with the idea of allowing him to get items while still in the jungle/lane with, for example, a storm crow who is micromanaged to fly to the shop and back. This storm crow would only be available once every 6 levels, and wouldn't be very fast. I think this may be too strong though, and would require other tweaks. *
Skill system. You begin with no weapons until you use a skill point. Each weapon Thunderfoot has can be toggled.
Q: Tomahawk. With Tomahawk active, W and E become tomahawk skills. - DPS focused skills, generally helpful with sustaining. W: Short bow: With Short Bow active, Q and E become Short Bow Skills. - slow, moderate range skills. This may be where his CC is. E: War Club: With War Club active, Q and W become War Club skills. burst focused skills. Maybe a jayce-like gap closer.
Each weapon can be utilized depending upon the situation. The goal here is to give the player a ton of options to choose from while not giving them everything they need at the same time. Each weapon has two skills, which would put Thunderfoot at a total of 7 skills and 4 different types of auto attacks(including fists at level 1 when you haven't skilled a weapon).
Ultimate: Rain Dance. Thunderfoot begins chanting ,channeling the power of storm as it begins to rain in an AOE around him. Minions, monsters, and champions are slowed by a moderate amount, and champions caught inside rain dance lose all vision except inside the rain dance AOE. Every 2 seconds, Thunderfoot can call upon the elements, unleashing a precise lightning bolt to strike the ground(small aoe). Lightning bolts that strike an enemy champion stagger then for .5 seconds, interrupting movement and spells. Lasts 6 seconds. Numbers here are very loose, but I would like to see Thunderfoot at least be able to call a lightning strike 3 times, maybe more, with a level 3 ultimate.
Well, that's all I have right now, but I thought I'd post it here to flush out some ideas with you guys and see what you think! League lacks a native american genre champion, and I thought this idea would be pretty fun to see. I like the idea of trying to stay in combat, whether in lane or in the jungle, for as long as possible. It was originally inspired by thinking of a nomadic type passive. The weapons are loosely based on Apache warfare, and I think having a dynamic fighting mechanic would be very fun. His ultimate is almost sort of a sacrifice for his kit, in that you exchange your fighting ability for overall presence, since you're stuck channeling the ability.
