Lately ive been thinkung that its about time to give urgot some love.. they've teased us about a Urgot rework and theyve said they were working on one but after what they did with sion ive been really excited to see how amazing urgot will be after a Rito-rework. and also by the way dont rework him into a adc because adc Urgot is dead and gone(Unless you change his ult) But make him into a viable top laner I think everybody would enjoy that :D That is all

He is a viable top laner! He just has a high skill cap.

I play him top all the time, but there are two key factors I go by to do it successfully.

  1. You can't push because he has no escape and Jungle will have a field day being fed by you. That's bad incentive to purchase crabgot.

  2. Only in normals... Because when you get to higher ranked levels, people will know better than to let you freeze the lane as him, thus shut down all shenanigans.

It's the fact that you can only play Urgot in stuff like Bronze, Silver, and Normals that kind of points there needs to be something about the guy that changes.

Idealy, a champ needs to be good (not God tier or top tier) in at least one lane. If they're not, Riot should really look into ways to fix this dilemma. Ahem-Urgot-Cough-Gragas-Cough-Ahem... Sorry.

To be more direct: Gragas Urgot

I think Urgot's kit seriously needs an overhaul. As it is now, he's conflicted, torn between shooting or being tanky. Both roles have difficulty existing with his current kit, given that his shield is also one of his main ways to improve his ranged skills. If his shield and Acid Hunter modifier existed independently, he could tank and shoot better, as he currently must sacrifice his DPS or his durability. His R is weird too. On a marksman, it makes no sense, but on a tank, it can be a pretty brutal initiator. Again, if most of his skills weren't conflictingly against themselves, it could potentially be better.

Urgot is close the the problematic state of Sion, which is to say, largely problematic. He is very split in how he should be, and how he should be played. Questions Riot have probably gotten hung up on include:

Should he be the adc he was intended to be? If so, what do we do to his kit? How can we still utilize his defensive aspects to this? If we can't, what do we replace them with while not sacrificing his identity? What is the purpose of an ult like Urgots on a champion which ought to deal damage from a distance?

If he is to be made into a top lane tank-like champion, what part of his kit do we focus on? Should a tank even be ranged?

Its all a matter of maintaining the identity of what he was intended to be, while not sacrificing too much of what he is, and providing what he needs to be. He's a big project for sure, so hang in there guys :)
