Why on earth did they rework Taric?

I get that they wanted to increase his low play rate. I get it. The only problem is, the new rework hasn't done that. I appreciated the old Taric's kit even if it was a bit boring. He was an excellent champ to play on a laggy connection, and his lock on stun was one of the best counter-gank abilities in the game. He could use it to protect his adc from sneaky assassins while healing them and increasing their armor. Now his stun is an extremely clunky and delayed skill shot, almost (but not quite) as useless and Sion's knock up. He used to be one of my go to champs when I played support and he was especially deadly when paired with the powerful monstrosity that is Mrs. Fortune's ult. Why can't they just bring the old Taric back? If anything, the new rework chased away what little of us actually liked to play Taric.

His kit was stale, was basically useless until late game when he got enough mana and cdr to spam his abilities.

New taric is still pretty much a late game support crippled by high mana costs but that ult tho

His stun is far better. Aoe and procs from the person you are linked to.

They didn't change what made Taric 'boring' to people. They just gave him an ult that forces him to be a decent pick.

Seriously, his Q is absolutely worthless. At least give it the 1.5x heal on taric again or something. The 140 mana cost is never, ever worth it at less than 3 stacks, and rarely actually worth it at 3. Its a shitty throw-away skill for his passive, at most.

Hell, if you look at his abilities, he's essentially 'the starchild' just like Soraka... Targon was a bust for Taric's rework.

So what made taric boring to you then?

His heal is so low because it is aoe and can be spammed thanks to his passive. Yes you will need cdr and mana to get the most out of him but that was exactly the same as old taric.

Also, if you're spamming Taric's heal, it does jack shit, especially considering the mana cost.

Literally Alistar's heal, which was gutted, would be more powerful. And Alistar heals himself for more.

Old Taric took way less of an investment and got way more out of it. The only thing that needed to be changed was his E, which gave him very little interaction with enemy teams. He also scaled harder in general.

Of course it took way less investment to play he only had two decent abilities and an ult that would grant 25 ad or ap to the team.

His passive was very strong, and his heal, when used as a self-heal solely for baits (healing others was a waste of mana), was very strong as well.

Taric could force an ADC to focus him, which is incredible as a support, while also being able to provide pretty insane damage for a support, in addition to lockdown, if they didn't.

If you think he only had two decent abilities, I don't get how you can call yourself a 'Taric main'.

Taric's issue was invisible power and it being hard to know exactly when you can utilize it and how. That's why he got reworked...not weakness. It was players who lacked the understanding of what he offered that caused him to get reworked because he had very little interaction outside of a stun if you weren't versed in the ways of Taric, and that made him seem very weak to many people.

I LOVED to play Taric andIi still do. His old kit was fun and all, and I miss it, but the new kit is WAAAY more interesting and fun to play with. I mained the old Taric and now I main the new one. Nothings gonna stop me from playing with my Bae ;D

I like Old Taric, yes, but he looked terrible and his kit was kinda dull. New Taric has a great kit and makes him more than just a walking ball of stats that he gives to people. His Dazzle is WAY more effective than the old Dazzle because he can now stun an entire team instead of one unlucky person, and a good Taric player will be able to time and position his stun for best effect. Don't knock him, he's a great champion and has a lot more going for him than the Old Taric.
