What if Riot just made messages with blacklisted words not send
I just came up with this so it is not really thought but it would stop a majority of dumb bans and no one needs to say these words in game anyway

Riot doesn't want to dictate how players are punished, aside from hate speech.

What if you're going to say something really important and it prevents you from saying it because a random word is filtered out? Besides, people would just get creative. There's always going to be someone who says "go home kid" or "you're so bad", when other people would want to say "I kid you not", or "I love a bad boy".
Like seriously, there is so much contextual, overlapping chat in League, that it's impossible for Riot to keep track of every toxic dialogue and choose which to blacklist.
If people show their true colors are worthy of a ban, they can show them.
People who say things like N-- and F-- and such deserve to be banned. They need to know there's consequences for that kind of language, and simply stopping them from typing those words will only cause them to creatively find ways to bypass the system, such as inserting characters within the words and whatnot. Those kinds of people need to be banned, and if they can't speak with respect towards other people, they don't need to be around other people.
This is a great idea, behaviorally speaking it enables Riot to curb behaviors by depriving them of the responses they seek from their teammates. Take away the reward, and the behavior goes away eventually. Most flaming is just attention / recognition seeking anyways.
There is a Language Filter option I believe where black listed words are already bleeped out. Even with that the fact that you can still be punished for saying such things in chat is not because they just "dumb bans", but because Riot seems to want to give players the ability to chose what they sya and what they see, while still punishing people who get way out of line.
I have been calling for this for a while. Just globally censor the words that they don't want in the game since people are still figuring out ways to say them without getting banned anyway. Just make the censorship bypass "turning the chat filter off" and be done with it. Then focus on the real problem.... AFK's and grievers :)
No. This community want to be able to say they banned YOU. That way they can feel more high and mighty, and if you take that away from this tribe, they will attack you relentlessly. It’s not about how good the game or system is, or how fun league is, it’s about their tribe and status.
