A possible idea for a reworked Dr. Mundo
To start off I am in no way forcing an idea on the good people of Riot. I am merely conveying my thoughts and excitement for Riots efforts on reworking past champions. I especially got excited when I caught an earshot of a possible Dr. Mundo rework. So in response I wanted to just get a voice in on what a new take on Mundo could look like. I wont ask for anything else other than a fair listen.
When I first started playing league of legends I took it upon myself to familiarize myself with the champions the game offered. it couldn't have been 2 minutes before I took my attention to Dr. Mundo. He was clearly one of the older champions just from looks alone, but his kit felt even older in a way. This leads into the two possible ideas I had for a rework. ( you can skip part one if you like)

Dr. Mundo defiantly feels like a high risk high reward kind of character. A majority of his kit is dedicated to sacrificing his own health to gain various buffs and advantages. This being said however, it makes him feel a bit linear. The kind of character whose sole purpose is to purely take and deal damage. I think if anything needs to happen it's to give Mundo a few more options other than swinging that cleaver. The man clearly has some association with chemicals. Why not give him some abilities that revolve around the idea of buffing and de-buffing allied and enemy champions. It would not only give Mundo the ability to support his team as this health regenerating tank but also provide him with a more supportive/carrying role. But even this sounded to bland to be considered an adequate rework, so that's when I had my second idea.

Mundo to me always felt like a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde kind of character, accept Dr. Jekyll got thrown out the window and you only kept Mr. Hyde. At the moment, one of the only roles in league of legends that hasn't been filled yet is the support/assassin. This is a huge opportunity for Riot to take Mundo from being this tank/bruiser kind of character and turn him into a supportive character capable of huge bursts of damage. Mundo could start off the game in a normal human form with his abilities and play style revolving around supporting his fellow champions. The way he supports his team could be via buffs or healing, plus some disruptions like a cloud of chemical gas that blocks enemies view and damages them if they pass through it. But once he's leveled up to the point he can use his ultimate, he transforms (gaining a new move set and appearance for a short duration) into The purple behemoth we know and love, except this time he's got a few new tricks. Seeing how the transformation is only limited I think it fair that he should be capable of dealing fair amounts of damage. As for a time limit on the transformation, how about a minute. I wouldn't mind if his transformed state still revolved around the idea of sacrificing health to do damage, I just want it to be kept in mind that sense he'll only be in this form for a short time that the buffs focus on bursting rather than longevity. I think this idea for Mundo could open up a lot of doors for creativity seeing how you can decide exactly what kind of doctor mundo is when he's not transformed. Plus I think this version of Mundo can have an even bigger relation with the players( this being something I know Riot strives for in their characters). To me, there isn't anything more relatable than being that guy who has to roll with the punches and take the abuse of others, but deep down you've got that side to yourself that just wants to break free and let the world have it.
But alas that is all I have to say. Thank you if read you this through to the end. I love this game, and l love the heart that goes into it. I hope my thoughts have helped inspire any ideas on the future and development of this character.
etc.). Reworks that completely change a character and throw them in a completely out of no where sort of role usually don't get too far (
for instance, they tried to turn a very vivid Toplaner into a Melee ADC). Something like that might be a huge turnoff for present Mundo players, I don't recall anybody both playing Mundo and wishing for his rework thinking "he should totally be a support."
