Adressing the notmyaatrox community and riot rework team
I can't say I was a die hard aatrox main, but he was my first 6300 champion I got and I played him quite a bit when I first got him, his elegent manner of speech and his dark brooding nature felt right, but his gameplay was lackluster to me, the one thing that did resonate with me was his passive bloodwell, the way you had to time it so that you'd have your revive ready to engage felt good, but everything else felt bland like playing another tryndamere, I stopped playing him for a bit and hoped to some day see him get a rework, and it finally came, I waited for it and even picked him back up just to say one last goodbye, but when the rework arrived, I felt dissapointed, where was my elegant warlord? My dark bringer of strife, my hero who leaped into the battle field and saved the day for the losing side? I felt like many others who began saying that this was not their aatrox, but I gave him a chance, I played him and his abilitys felt great, I enjoyed landing his q and knocking up enemys, but his passive was gone, my favorite part of his kit was gone. Two things about the aatrox rework dissapointed me, his new identity and the fact he no longer relied on his passive to revive. His new wings looked great, his Russian accent was ok, minus the screaming, his sword looked cool, but he just wasn't the same aatrox I had learned to love. Im not making this post to say I'm better than the rework team, and that my idea will make aatrox better, but I'd like to share how I think aatrox could be slightly changed to reflect not only old aatrox but this new vision as well,
How to slightly change aatrox to make everyone happy
- Keep the voice make it less screamy
- Give us the old passive back
- Return the banner wings.
- Mix his old lore and new lore into one.
- Maybe tweak his abilitys to be less chop and slam and more pierce and swoosh.
