If riot ever were to change how caitlyn looked (for whatever reason) I really hope they take it in this direction. The third one is absolutely perfect. This post isn't super serious or asking Riot to change anything, but I saw this and thought it was amazing, so I shared. :)

They could always make the hat bigger, silly. :P I was mostly focusing on the outfits themselves, discluding the hat, as who would Caitlyn be without her hat?

Totally agree. I go for the third option, the second with tailcoat seems really popular, too. But Quinn already has that (kinda) IMO and the skirt in the third option is incredibly cute and fitting the steampunk feeling of Caitlyn. ^^

They're honestly all pretty damn good. Riot would surely try all of them and pick which one looks best based off the actual in-game model. 1. Is more like her classic look, 2. is probably more practical attire, and 3. is probably the type of look Riot would go for if they still wanted Caitlyn to have her skirt.

I feel as though Riot would need to do a 'Traditional Caitlyn' skin simply because they be making her hat marginally smaller and she wouldn't have a short skirt and bare legs. I agree that Riot should realign Caitlyn's appearance with her actual character, but at the same time what she should be and what people have grown to love over several seasons are two very different things.

I don't think they are going to make her hat smaller. I read somewhere (official post of riot but don't know the source anymore), that they found characters with one big accessoir appealing for most people. One example they mentioned was Singed and his poison bottle on the back.

Her big hat is THE trademark of Caitlyn and I highly doubt they are going to change that. ^^

But at the same time, nearly all of her skins don't even have the hat.

The only thing that's actually consistent across all of her skins is her rifle.

EDIT: Coincidentally, her primary weapon is her rifle as is Singed's Poison Gas.

They are skins, that's a totally different case here. Skins don't have to include the accessoir. Guess what? Most of Singed's skins don't have a huge poison bottle, too. They change it for every skin. It is still his trademark though.

Same for Caitlyn. Even if she doesn't have that top hat, all here skins include some kind of hat or head accessoir. And the top hat is still her trademark when it comes to her base skin.

And she is a sniper in her whole kit... of course she always has a rifle in her skins. That doesn't mean anything. In my opinion (and many others as I assume), Caitlyn just wouldn't be Caitlyn without that hat.

Singed still has his poison bottle in all of his skins, caitlyn does not have her hat in every skin - the only skin in which she has a prominent hat is her Classic and Sheriff skins.
As a long-time Caitlyn player (she's been one of my top 3 ADCs since season 2) I find her gun is far more iconic than her hat. And I say that as someone who both has and enjoys using the Chromas for her Classic Skin.

I think you'll find the most iconic part of a champion's model across all champions and their skins is their weapon.

EDIT: There's a few champions like Fizz and Nidalee that you get for what their ultimates look like.

I kind of agree with the "Tradition Caitlyn" idea. Minor changes are okay in my opinion, but in a case like this, I feel like Caitlyn's appearance definitely would change enough to warrant one. That was both new and old players could still enjoy her without causing a communal upset. :)
