(Champion Concept) Soren - The Minion Master

Hi, this is my first fleshed out champion concept and meant to participate in the next CCOS. I've posted a rough sketch of it some months ago, by now I have heavily reworked it. Still, most numbers are educated guesses rather than based on exact calculations. I still can't fully wrap my head around the arbitrary concept of units and only started playing back in November :P

BASICS Movement Speed: 325 Health: 540 – 2250 Health Regen: 4.5 – 15 Mana: 360 – 1.200 Mana Regen: 7.5 – 18.5 Armor: 20 – 65 Magic Resist: 34 – 55 Range: 225 Attack Damage: 55 – 105 Attack Speed: 0.625 (+0 - +30%) Type: Mage

**GENERAL IDEA ** This one is a bit of a special snowflake. He doesn‘t go about hacking, slashing or shooting a lot by himself, but rather relies on his little friends, who are constantly spawned within his team‘s base. The minions boost him and shield him, as he is not one to endure a lot of physical damage. However, his importance grows as a match progresses from lane fights to team fights. Utilizing his own minions in the right moment can shift the tides of a battle.

Suitable potentially as top laner, might work as support as well. Definitely no jungler. Should go well against opponents who rely a lot on farm and/or deal mostly magic damage. Potentially weak against very mobile opponents with a high output of physical damage. Build paths may vary and allow flexibility between the “AP beast” and “tanky supporter” approach. Most effective rune combo would probably be Sorcery runes as main tier and Resolve runes as second tier.


**LOOKS ** I imagine him as a grim, elderly, tall and spiny guy in a medieval outfit with a white beard and a monk hairstyle. He is wielding a long staff with a curled end on the handle side. Here is a sketch that was graciously provided by my sister (cause my drawing skills are somewhat limited):

KIT

**PASSIVE ** HEART OF THE HERD Can move through allied minions with increased speed (+15%) and gains mana regeneration (up to +25%) and magic resist (up to +25%) depending on how many minions are within a radius of 650. Maximum bonus is reached at 5 minions.

BATTLE BOND Gain stacks by kills using Minion Rage. One stack equals +1 AP.

**[Q] SHEPHERD'S SLASH ** (Mana Cost: 70/80/90/100/110, Cooldown: 16/15.5s/15s/14.5s/14s) Soren teleports forward for a short distance (range 320/350/380/410/440) and slashes his staff in a half-circle (radius 225). Upon a second press within 1s, he teleports back to his original position. Enemies hit are stunned for 1.1s. Causes base physical damage + additional magic damage (50/75/100/125/150 +50% AP). Soren is immune to crowd control effects for 1s after the first teleport.

**[W] MINION RAGE ** Mana Cost: 60/75/90/105/120, Cooldown: 28s/26s/24s/22s/20s Soren enchants minions (range 600, spell radius 350), which gain increased attack speed and damage (all +10%/20%/30%/40%/50% + 30% AP) and damage reduction (10%/20%/30%/40%/50% +30% AP). Also works on superminions and buffed minions.Kills by enchanted minions count for Soren and grant stacks on Battle Bond (1 per minion, 2 per cannon minion, 5 per super minion, 10 per champ)

**[E] FLOCK SPIRIT ** Mana Cost: 50/55/60/65/70, Cooldown: 12s/11s/10s/9s/8s Soren and allied champions within a radius of 650 gain additional magic resist (up to +25%) and increased health regen (up to +300%) for a period of time (4s/5s/6s/7s/8s) while 1 or more minions are within a radius of 650. Maximum bonus is reached at 5 minions.

**[R] ULTIMATE: BLAZING SOULS ** Mana Cost: 100/115/130, Cooldown: 120s/105s/90s Soren channels allied minions within a radius of 800 for 1s and releases a wave of light. The first wave causes magic damage (up to 100/200/300 + 50% AP, depending on the number of minions channeled).

After the wave fades (0.5s) a second wave can be released by another press within 3s into a direction of choice. It causes a slow of 50%/60%/70% that decays over 4s/4.5s/5s and blinds enemy champions within that timespan. Both waves only hit champions, but not other units or buildings.

A light wave measures a fixed width of 150 units and a starting length of 300 unites that extends to 900 while the wave travels a total distance of 1.400 units within 0.5s. Minions must remain within channel radius for the full 1s to count. +50% damage bonus if at least one super minion is channeled. If no channeled minion remains within the spell radius at the end of the channeling time, the ability does not trigger light waves and is reset with a cooldown of 10s.

Update #1: Changed Q from a leap to a teleport to better fit the premise of Soren as an old and not very mobile mage. Based on the input from Dead1nsideLoL.

This is just me being picky - I like the art and everything, I just don’t think him having a dash would make much sense, isn’t he supposed to be like an imobile slow old man/wizard looking type of character? I think a sheild or some other type of defensive spell would suit him better, great drawing skills though!
