Fiddlesticks Rework Idea

Hello Everyone! I had been thinking about all the "out of date" champions that have existed in their current state for a while, and fiddlesticks came to my mind. I decided to think up a new more modern kit for him that allows him to really live out his spooky scarecrow fantasy. I have never done anything like this before, let me know what you think! And if any Rioter ends up seeing this, I would love to hear your thoughts, and maybe even Riot's actual future plans for Fiddlesticks. And if no one ends up seeing this, well it was still fun to make and dream up!

Passive - Unassuming Scarecrow: Whenever fiddlesticks stands still for X seconds, he gains a short movement speed boost after moving again. (Basically what his current passive is now)

Q Manic Scythe - 60/70/80/90/100 + (70% Ability Power): Fiddlesticks empowers his next basic attack to do damage in an arc in front of him, healing for 10/20/30/40% of the damage dealt. The cool down is reduced (scales with cool down reduction) for every feared champion hit.

W Crow Sentinels - 50/55/60/65/70 + (25% Ability Power): Normal Cast (No Cost): Fiddlesticks summons a crow at target location, specifying the direction it faces. The crow grants vision in an area around it. Fiddlesticks can store up to 4 crow charges. Placement has no cool down.

On Crow Cast (Costs Mana): Fiddlesticks causes the crow to unleash its power, dealing magic damage in a cone in front of the crow, and fearing all enemies hit. Feared enemies run away from the crow, not Fiddlesticks. The crow disappears when cast upon.

E Spectral Wind: Fiddlesticks dashes directly to a target enemy champion, appearing in front of them. If the target is feared, the cool down of the dash is reset.

R Scarecrow’s Frenzy: Fiddlesticks enters a manic frenzy empowering his next 4 abilities.. Scarecrow’s Frenzy lasts for 5 seconds or until 4 abilities have been cast

  • Q: increases healing and damage significantly
  • W:(only applies to on crow cast) crows cause small crowstorm to occur around their location
  • E: Increases dash range significantly

Crowstorm - Area around any of Fiddlesticks crows deals magic damage over time

After the duration of the frenzy is over, or whenever fiddlesticks has used his 4 empowered abilities, Fiddlesticks gains a massive movement speed boost

Visual Update: Fiddlesticks would get a whole new model with this. He'd be much more terrifying, and a lot of his scariness would come from his movement style. I envision him almost hobbling or walking with a limp, in an unsettling manner. But in his frenzy he would almost appear to flow with the wind like an evil spirit. He has such potential to really scare the crap out of people.

My Thoughts On Development: This rework idea turns fiddlesticks into more of a melee magic damage assassin/diver. His abilities are designed to play around the fear of his enemies, making them more impactful as you consume your enemies’ terror. Positioning your crows strategically can allow you to fear your enemies in the direction you want, either leading them away from their grouped team, or scattering your enemies allowing you to make your entrance. You should feel like fear is your friend and your tool when playing this new Fiddlesticks.

Details about cool downs and mana costs, and even damage ratios were just for fun, and in most cases are missing from the description of the abilities. I was more concerned about creating an interactive kit and developing thematic gameplay.

The only thing I was not set upon, was whether or not to have crow “detonation” be done by cast of W, or by Fiddlesticks dashing to them, in which case his dash cool down would be reset and cost more mana.

seems really odd and clunky.

Why would he need a dash on E if he has a movespeed boost that rewards him for standing still. He no longer has to channel any abilities so he won't utilize it much.

I hope they never touch Fiddle. I main him, love him him, and if they rework him i will become one of those incredibly salty people who always show up on the rework pages. Don't make me do it.
