Ka’Vyk, The Light of the Void

"The good thing about having a sword made out of light is that it can go through pretty much anything...

Especially wind." (Taunting Yasuo)

As an orphan, Kaiven was a different child, A lone child living in Zaun. After being kicked out of his third Piltover orphanage in just 8 years due to his disobedience, he took to the streets. He knew he had a gift, he knew he kept the power of light hidden inside. However, his abilities were far from trained. Kaiven did not know much about his parents, but he had always heard his they were very fortunate and wealthy people. They were also seemingly very generous and kind to all people. However, there had never been a mage in Kaiven’s family, causing townsfolk to believe his mother had cheated with a mage. Although Kaiven did not believe he truly was a mage, his parents had

One time at age 7, he had injured a child once in his first orphanage with a spell causing his relocation to a smaller orphanage. A fellow orphan with a group of friends had attacked him, pushing him to the ground and kicking him while he was down. His friends joined in and laughed, but Kaiven had not typically been bothered. He was used to it, he never really fit in.

The children continued to torment him. But the line was crossed when one of the children called his mother a whore. Kaiven did not understand how this child knew his mother, but a sudden fleeting feeling, filled his body. A mixture of rage and something he had never felt before. He didn’t understand the feeling, it flooded his body and became impossible to control. He stopped and let out a burst of anger-driven power. He felt warm afterwards, but the main child he had been tormented by was now screaming on the ground in pain, writhing. He knew now that it was true, he really was a mage. A screaming matron running over was the last thing he remembered before passing out from the sheer exhaustion of the power he summoned.

After the third orphanage he realized he had to go somewhere else, There were no schools for mages he could afford in Piltover, so he escaped to Zaun. He lived off the alleyways of Zaun for months, but he was learning. He was only age 13, but he knew he could survive. He searched garbage cans and rubble piles to find anything containing info about magic. He studied what he could, and found food where he could. Some days he barely scraped by, but he could feel the light becoming more controllable inside him.

One day he met a man named Havlod, a peculiar man with a strange hat who spoke in a strange tone. Kaiven could tell he was lost, but instead attempted to walk past him. Then the man approached him. He claimed he was a mage, making his way to Shurima. Kaiven did not trust him, but knew this was one of his only chances. The man was lost and needed help, so Kaiven offered a deal. He would escort him out of Zaun, if the man agreed to take him with and share his knowledge. He happily obliged, and allowed Kaiven to hop on the wagon seat next to him.

Later that day, as they passed the final gate of Piltover, Kaiven looked behind. He did not know why, but he believed he needed one last glance at the marvelous place he had once called home. They set up camp just before the Shuriman desert and Havlod began lessons at once. Kaiven learned a lot from Havlod, and was very grateful. They both sat by the fire and chatted between lessons. They were beginning to become quite good friends. They talked, told jokes, and laughed until early morning. They soon fell asleep, knowing that they could not stay up late, for they had quite a feat to pass when they awoke.

The next day Kaiven woke up with a start. The coals were burning in the fire left overnight, and everything around him was silent. He realized that Havlod was nowhere to be seen. He sat up, looked around thoroughly once more and his fears were confirmed, Havlod had abandoned him. He jumped up with a start and began to sprint towards the desert. He couldn’t have been very far ahead.

Kaiven had been running for hours, he finally stopped to rest behind a rock, it provided ample shade and he realized he was lost. The Shuriman desert was massive, and he had no idea which direction to travel. He was panting and sweating violently. He did not have an idea of what to do next, so he just sat there and allowed himself to cool down. After a few minutes he began to realize how tired he was, and drifted off to sleep in the cool sand below him.

Shortly after he woke with a start, the ground rumbling beneath him. He didn’t know what was going on so he quickly began trying to summon the light. He heard a great crackling, and realized the ground breaking around him. He ran as fast as he could towards the open desert, but it was following him. He knew he could not outrun it, but he tried his hardest. He eventually fell, and desperately grabbed onto the very sand of the desert, but that would not help him.

He was falling.

He was knocked unconscious upon impact with the ground.

Once he awoke, he groggily lifted his head to observe his surroundings. He knew there was no easy way to escape this place. He was part of the void now.

He was forced to survive over the years, teaching himself new spells. Eventually he began to prefer the name Ka'Vyk. He invented a spell that allowed him to conjure a sword made of pure light, a sword he called the Lightblade. This happened to become his new weapon, which he used to survive against the monsters of the Void.

Ka’Vyk - Abilities

Passive - Lightblade - Deal additional magic damage with autos based on level and bonus AP.

Q - Quickslash - Quickly slash your sword in front of you, dealing magic damage in an arc and slowing for a time.

W - Fluorescent Field - Active - Conjure a shield around you, also increases attack speed for the duration of the shield.

E - Brilliant Dash - Transmute into a ball of light, flying forward a short distance, dealing magic damage to anyone you hit. If you come in contact with terrain, instead jump through it, deal increased damage and stunning in a circle where you land. If on the edge of the map, instead launch directly away from the wall, dealing increased damage and stunning in a circle where you land.

R - Sea of Swords - Summon clones of your Lightblade to fight alongside you. Amount of clones: 1/2/3 HP: 450/550/750 Dmg: 85/100/125

Notes: Ka’Vyk will not look like a typical void character. He fights using light, and is a good mage. He may have been in the void but he has been surviving his own way. I picture him as a disheveled man with long black hair and a beard, he is around 23 so he looks young still. He wears some old poorly kempt clothes that he created himself. He does not carry his Lightblade, but instead quickly conjures it when entering combat. He will play like a bruiser-mage and have slightly longer range than other melee champs. Due to the fact that his sword is completely weightless, why not make it big? He would mainly be played top, possibly JG as well.

Skin - Void Ka’Vyk/Corrupted Ka’Vyk Obviously since Ka’Vyk looks like a normal dude, there should be a skin where he was corrupted by the Void, this could be a totally separate skin or part of the already existing Void skins

Hmmmm, very interesting and a cool concept, albeit simple. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
