[PROPOSAL] Change Arcade Riven splash art with her cropped image from the arcade login screen

I think the login screen one is way better. It conveys the cheerful and playful feeling that a "videogame" theme implies, the position of her body is way more "let's do it boyssss" than the current splash art and, again, more suited for an arcade theme in my opinion. The happy smile is another viable argument.

On the other hand, the current splash art not only is dull because the artist decided to basically use the same body position of the original splash art, but also has a boring "serious business face", that doesn't fit with the theme for what I stated above.

Final argument: Riven is super cute in the login screen. This may be the only argument.

Since Riot changed the Tristana splash art during her rework (even if for different reasons) I was wondering if you could do that for Riven too.

To be fair, the pose and face she has on her splash art does look like it would fir perfectly on the side of a arcade machine.

I actually kinda agree, I like both don't get me wrong and I LOVE Rivens lore. But the arcade splash from the login just seems too cute and fun to pass up, it adds more depth besides "Grr Noxus betrayed me" and shows that even though she is a serious character she can have light hearted fun moments too. Either way is fine with me

How isn't the Riven from her original arcade splash videogame feeling? She feels to me like the heroine from a game, fighting a bunch of pixel foes who stand in her way. Not only that but it fits with who riven is. Even in Battle Bunny, Riven isn't portrayed as cute. Tbh, it looks like someone forced her into the outfit and she went on a rampage. That's just Riven's style. She isn't a cute little girl and I hate the login screen because that doesn't represent Riven at all.

The login screen works better for an arcade skin (probably should be brighter though).

The current splash is more riven though.

I personally really like her original arcade splashart. You could potentially take cropped loading-screen version of Riven, shine it up, and put it over the background of the original splashart. '

I personally think Riot won't change it unless they make the official arcade splashart based off the loading screen. That would be really cool. Then give Blitzcrank, Hecarim, Sona, and Miss Fortune loading screen pictures based off that new splashart.

Would also prefer to have it changed, I have the skin and the feel in-game has nothing to do with the splash, you feel happy and gamey in-game, but looking at the splash she looks so unhappy

Obligatory logged in to upvote. Really though her other splash arts are all doom and gloom. It really looks like she's enjoying herself in the login splash and that's something unique in all of the Riven art that I've seen from Riot.

Thread reminds me of how most of the men in League of Legends are middle-aged men. Where my cute boys at? (Edit: Yes, I'm aware Ekko exists, but I feel like the female side has quite a bit more age diversity.)

The way I see it is the login is promotional art or something you'd see on the side of an old arcade cabinet (colorful and sometimes cheerful) and the actual splash is the in game character select art; which tends to be more serious looking.

The sexism in your board is funny. Why would Riven care how cute you think she is, and say "boys." I do remember her being a man-killer in her original lore.

Neways, her skin is 1375 RP because of the splash art. If they cropped it from the master splash, they would have to cut out the cost of the individual art, and that wouldn't be favorable. 975 RP would be a better price, but they can charge whatever they feel is reasonable to the amount of work that Riot puts into the skin.

I also haven't been a fan of the recent rework of splash art, but, I'm not a Riot Art Director or Specialist, nor did I pay for it, so I can't complain.

I agree, its seems like Riven's Arcade splash is a bit to serious dull looking compared to all the others. Its also like a ridiculously unrealistic pose for a woman(or a man for that matter) to hold while stabbing with a sword... yeah those things bother me xD I like it, but i dont think it fits the theme. I do love the log in themed one, but it looks... just a bit blurry, like its a lower quality image? maybe its just my screen res... or it was just to add to the 80's arcade effect. the only thing i don't like about it is... her eye brows are like 6 inches long xD

Doesn't exactly fit her personality, the log in screen is cute, but it doesn't fit Riven at all. She's a brooding little emo who can't "forgive" herself over something that wasn't even her fault. All her in game quotes would lead you to believe she's just a stale broken "hero". If anything that expression and pose fits Jinx more, and Riven is most definitely not Jinx.

And Can we please have Miss Fortune look interested or happy? It's infuriating to see Sona and Riven having the time of their lives in the login screen while Miss Fortune is all like: MissFortune Yeah, whateves. Just gonna keep shooting here.

this is to tease that there is gonna be one more arcade skin and 3 more boss skins. Look at the bottom of the page. Also the original splash art is like a mortal kombat choosing your character thingy. I agree your point but it would also take away from a lot of things too.
