With the release of the last two ranks that we can get being 6/7 by now its really not that hard to obtain them. 2 games with an S- or higher and 3 Games with an S/S+. If we are being real here that's pretty easy. You may not get them quickly but you will get them without much difficulty. Like for example. I'm a high gold elo player. Nothing crazy and nothing special at the game, but i have real life friends that are bronze and low silver. If i play a game where I am Que'd with them more likely then not I'm going to be in a significantly lower ranked game. which makes it incredibly easy to get these few little tokens. Which I'm sure lots of people have done to get those mastery 6's and 7's. I was thinking that if Riot was to implement a real/true mastery system it needs to have harsher requirements and actually have that goal of you have accomplished something. For a long time now the game has been designed to make it so that the new players can enjoy the game and feel like they are getting better, But for those of us who have played for many years. My self included ( I started in late 2014). "Enough blabbering and get onto the point will ya". I think a good starting point for mastery 8 would be that you have to have 100K champion mastery points and 5 S/S+ games. It really isn't that huge of a step up. For mastery 9, you should have to have 250k mastery points and 10 S/S+ games. This is putting in some more time and effort to show off your mastery. Last but not least mastery 10 should be 500k mastery points or maybe even 1 million mastery points with 20 S+ games. in theory the S+ games would easily come along during that time frame. Maybe even 50 S+ games. Something that when you are in the loading screen and people see that mastery 10 icon on your champion portrait they will have more faith in you. When you flash that mastery 10 icon in game the opponent knows that they are actually playing against somebody who knows their champion and they will have to step up. I myself am a self proclaimed Diana one-trick and if the mastery 10 was to be only 500k mastery points on the champion, at the time of typing this I would still be about 50k mastery points short of being able to get it. Please leave comments and opinions down below I'm really looking forward to what people have to say

Although I am all for more mastery levels, I find your post kind of comdradictory. You say that the levels are too easy to get because getting s/s+ is easy and that its just about low key grinding then propose that to get more mastery levels you need to grind more.

If you really want to ramp up the difficulty how about doing something like this Mastery level 7 to 8: Get 2 s- or better consecuaively, meaning you have to play 2 games back to back and get s- or better in both or it resets. Mastery 8 to 9: have most cs in game, best vision score, and highest damage done, highest healing done, or highest cc contribution in 2 games. Mastery 9-10: Get an S+ without dying at all, be the most honored player on team, take the most objectives in game, and last hit enemy nexus. Do this 3 times.

Now these will ramp up the difficulty and take mastery levels from simple grinding to having to perform exceptional, proving you are truly worthy of such a mastery score.
