Runeterra The Game - An overworld map to game play.

When you sign into LOL, you click the "play" button. You then have the option to select "Runeterra" as a game type; similar to Summoner's Rift or ARAM. When you do, a map of Runeterra appears; similar to this one: https://map.leagueoflegends.com/en_US

SELECT YOUR HOMETOWN Your first time joining, you get to select your starting point; let's say Noxus. I prefer everyone to start from the same location and explore from there, but maybe you can pick the city of your choice?

DIFFERENT IN-GAME LANDSCAPES From that location on the map, you could access Summoner's Rift games that resemble that specific area. Access to Bilgewater on your map would grant you access to Summoner's Rift maps that actually looked like Bilgewater. The landscape in-game would be dark and murky with wood planks to fight on in game instead of Rift grass, and ships, docks, and shacks to navigate thru to get to Baron, etc.

UNIQUE IN-GAME MONSTERS Or maybe Baron is something different at that location? A green, poisonous monster perhaps? Access to Freljord would give you a totally new experience; icy landscapes, snow falling, etc. Baron might be a white-haired monster? When you gain access to these new areas, your in-game Summoner's Rift map changes.

EXCLUSIVE CONTENT You would also get access to exclusive content; only available at that location; such as in-game items like "Aether Ice Wisp" (30AP, +6% Movement Speed). This item could only be acquired when you work your way to the location that has a shop for it.

LEVEL UP TO TRAVEL Traveling from your starting point Noxus to Freljord would take you 5 levels. Demacia would be another 5. Targon would be much harder to get to; it's further away. You'd have to work your way through Bilgewater to get there, so traveling the map would make the game cool and exciting. As you progress in the game, your access to other areas on the map increases. You might even discover something off the beaten path, because you got an "S" in-game at that location.

The entire League of Legends experience would completely change. It wouldn't just be logging in to play the game. You'd be unlocking an entire world to traverse and explore.

Project F might be going for such a theme.
