Competitive scene similar to the NBA or similar sports!?

Of course teams should already be prepared in the first place and there are flaws to this, but this would make things interesting It'd be interesting to see if the competitive scene had features like these that are like the NBA: -Team/Coach viewing the game can call a timeout (maybe 2 timeouts) to discuss an ongoing problem in the game and give proper directions towards victory. Of course the timeouts won't take that long, maybe max 3mins per timeout? -Half-time maybe!? -A coach can make a sub for a player only during timeouts -The sub will be left off with the exact items and champion as the person they are subbing for
