It's inspiration in the form of bloodlust - an almost carnal desire for victory through the blood spilled and violence perpetrated by Aatrox. Kindred's ult is too ... "peaceful", if that makes sense. Sion's old ult is the closest thing we have to that right now, although even that doesn't fit all that well imo - it's a little bit too simple.

Wut? Do you mean Rengar? Aatrox is the darkin blade who's sword can only be quenched which bloodshed. He brings war and turns the tide to bring victory. However the victors are not left with pleasant memories. The do not see triumph they see slaughter and senseless destruction.

Actually, it wouldn't.

Nothing about him says "I lifesteal for dayz!" except his W, and being a drain tank is the one aspect of his design that fits the least.
