[Champion Concept] Seth, the Harvester (Revived)
Seth, the Harvester was a champion concept I had posted waaaaay back on 7/25/2011. I felt like digging it up and dusting it off - y'know, see what happens. Who doesn't like the idea of a champion who is "just some guy," ya know? The archived topic can be found here. The picture above is one of the skill icons I sketched up on paper, took a picture of with my phone, and then redid with MS Paint... yeah. I don't know why it's so big, though, because it shouldn't be.
Foreword: There's a bit of a problem with a concept as old as this one... the champion himself has yet to become a thing, though most of his passive(s) and abilities have been implemented through official champion releases throughout the years (some of which occurring relatively soon after the post, such as with Graves' passive). Apparently even the name Seth was a name to be used for a champion at some point. Heck even the voice actor I had in mind for Seth has been taken by Yasuo (Liam O'Brien).
----- SUMMARY ----- A humble, middle-aged working class farmer turned fighter to support and protect his family.
Roles: Fighter, Assassin; Pusher *(based upon old kit; subject to change after rework)
Appearance: A tall, exceptionally well-built man in his forties. He wears ragged and dirty brown woven clothing, wearing an open shirt exposing his torso, basic cloth pants that are horribly tattered and torn, and simple farmer's sandals. He appears disarmingly slender for his line of work, and, coupled with his loose-fitting open shirt, gives off the illusion that he may be scrawny. However, that almost lanky exterior hides muscles toned beyond human limits, his entire body covered in scars from decades of working the fields. He has short, light brown hair down to the mid of his neck in the back and down to his eyebrows in the front. His jaw and upper lip seem to maintain a perpetual 5 o'clock shadow. As a man who never stops working he has tired lines under his hazel eyes that seem to gaze wistfully off into the distance. As a bit of his sense of humor, as surprising as it may be to some that he has one, he likes to keep a piece of wheat or straw in his mouth -- poking fun at the farmer cliche, 'looking like a badass' and whatnot.
Weapon: His scythe, whom he calls Matilda, is an exceptionally large, unwieldy scythe that any normal man wouldn't be able to handle. Its blade is as sharp as even the finest craftsman's swords, even those enchanted with magic or of mysterious origin, despite over thirty years of use. The blade is a flawless steel that reflects everything like a mirror, never seeming to get dirty aside from the blood which it seems to drink when it drawn from foes. It is unknown if the scythe is actually made of steel or any earthly material at all. Witnesses of its use in combat are beginning to spread rumor that it is enchanted, cursed, or possibly even divine.
----- ABILITIES ----- (I'll be posting the old versions of his abilities for now along with the champions that have since had similar abilities. Any of the following could be completely changed/replaced in the future.) (The damage numbers and whatnot will very likely be changed/tweaked/whatever; I have no idea what I'm doing.)
(Considering the option of these abilities to also apply a true damage damage over time bleed either as a passive to one or all his abilities though it won't stack)
wuz here
I am unsure if Seth would be manaless or use energy, or perhaps his own version of the energy resource but with similarities to Renekton/Rumble; idea needs to be fleshed out.
Innate:
Tireless Endurance - The longer Seth stays in a fight the stronger he gets. Every few attacks he gains a stack of Tireless Endurance that increases his health regen, attack damage, and movement speed that wears off after 10 seconds of not being in combat.(Passive: Gains a small amount of health after each kill)
Parts of this innate and previous versions of it have been taken by
and
(provided armor, magic resist, and health regen after auto-attacks or while remaining in combat).
Update: Considering replacing his innate passive with a damage bonus while he or his enemies are inside brush, either double damage or true damage conversion/bonus, OR with an ability to either see or sense enemies when they enter nearby brush. Also thought of him losing attack speed the longer he fights but gaining immense damage (and crit rate/damage) bonuses.
Q:
Sow - (Skillshot) Seth reaches forward with his scythe (or throws it forward, similar to Olaf) and slams the ground with great force, briefly stunning opponents near the impact and pulls himself forward. (This can pull him through walls; uses like Tristana's Rocket Jump but with smaller impact radius and range)
Update: The attack will only pull him forward if Q is pressed again within the small window of opportunity provided by the skill animation.
Range: 600
Stun Duration: 1/1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4
Damage: 80/100/140/170/200 (+0.5 AD)
Cooldown: 10 seconds
W:
Mow - (Skillshot) Seth reaches forward a long distance with his scythe and pulls his targets toward him dealing damage. Targets mowed are slowed. This ability crits enemies for double damage who are inside brush.
Update: The bonuses will apply if he or any of his enemies are inside brush.
Range: 800
Distance pulled: 400
Damage: 80/110/140/170/200 (+0.8 AD)
Slow: 20/25/30/35/40%
Slow Duration: 3 seconds
Cooldown: 8 seconds
This skill is downright
... 10 months before Darius.
E:
Reap - Seth passively gains a guaranteed crit every 4 attacks. Seth can also use this ability to sweep the area in front of him; targets hit are marked with a weak spot that, on Seth's next basic attack, will be a guaranteed crit.
Update: The guaranteed crits from this skill have a higher critical damage % (additional +50%, stacking with
).
[Active] Sweep Range: 300 at 140 degrees.
[Active] Sweep Damage: 100/110/120/140/150 (+1.0 AD)
[Active] Mark Duration: 10 seconds
[Passive] Base Crit Increase: 5/10/15/20/25%
Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/11 seconds
R:
Harvest - Seth wields his scythe with great determination gaining attack damage and movement speed but sacrificing attack speed. Additionally, he gains additional gold for every kill during this state.
Duration: 10 seconds
Attack Damage Bonus: 15/30/60%
Movement Speed Bonus: 10/12/15%
Attack Speed Decrease: 5/10/15%
Additional Gold: (Minion) 3/6/10g; (Champion) 10/15/20g
Cooldown: 60/55/50 seconds
Alternate Ultimate:
Harvest or Crop Circle - Seth wields his scythe with mighty force, spinning 360 degrees heavily damaging all enemies within his scythe's reach. Additionally, Seth is healed for a portion of the damage dealt. If he kills a target the cooldown is reduced.
Update: Damage could be increased based on each enemy's missing health (but I feel like there's been a lot of this kinda thing).
Radius: 800
Damage: 200/350/500 (+ 1.0 AD)
Heal from Damage: 40/50/60%
Additional Gold: 5g per minion; 10g per champion
Cooldown Reduction: 1/2/3 seconds per creep kill; 5 seconds per champion hit; 15 seconds per champion kill
Cooldown: 40 seconds
Kinda taken by
in terms of visual concept and some versions of the idea.

----- Lore ----- *(story was written on or around 7/25/2011; it may need to be rethought out with the new champion roster/other lore elements in mind, and/or for my updated writing ability)
In a small human village away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded major cities, a lone man, Seth Dranson, plowed the fields of his crops. He worked tirelessly day in and day out to provide for his family and village. He always had his scythe with him, carrying it around as if it were a status symbol. Eventually it became just that, a logo of a scythe was adorned to the sacks and crates he sold to people. His prices were always affordable, even accommodating for even the poorest of families with sweat on his brow and a gentle smile on his face. The villagers respected him greatly for his seemingly unnecessary generosity, but he always said that as long as he makes enough to survive on and make his family happy it's all he'll ever need.
With such top quality produce at such affordable prices, word began to spread. Soon people from all across the land began to come to the village hearing of the most delicious produce around. The village began to grow and was quickly transformed into a busy little town all thanks to Dranson Produce, improving everyone's lives. The humble village had changed but Seth's home remained untouched. He began to work even harder trying to keep up with growing demands. He looked tired at all times of the day and yet he continued to drudge through his work without rest. Customers urged him to expand his business and hire people to help him yet he refused again and again continuously stating in a stern voice, "A man's work is his own to bear."
One evening, a group of bandits arrived at his humble home and began demanding a portion of his crops in addition to a radical portion of his income as offering to them each month, or else. He gruffly refused with a tired voice and swung his scythe at them forcing them to back away and flee. That night he awoke to the light of flames dancing across his fields. The horrid scene reflected against his scythe clenched tightly in his trembling fists. He yelled to his wife and children to leave and take refuge. When his wife Tara asked him if she should get the town's help to save the crops he turned with the fire reflected in his eyes saying, "A man's work is his own to bear...." With that he walked forward through the burning fields with a look of wrath in his tired eyes. He tracked down the bandits at their camp in the nearby woods. They tried to surround him and take him down but he dodged them swiftly and sliced them each in two with ease. With vengeance his, he calmed down and sighed, covered in blood in the dim light of the bandits' campfire. A figure approached from the darkness and Seth had his scythe ready to behead it at an instant. The figure came into the light to be a woman with a long rifle. She told him he was a very gifted fighter to have taken down this group of highly skilled bandits alone that she had been tracking for days. He scratched his head confused, telling her he had never fought before in his life. Years of grueling work had strengthened and tuned his body to that of a warrior's. She then told him of the League of Legends where he could put his skill to use. He let out a long, tired sigh. Several weeks later he left the farm business to his family and hired workers to work the fields he cared for dearly to take on a new set of fields - the Fields of Justice.
"I've never seen a man look so tired yet so strong." - Caitlyn
----- Skin Ideas -----
Death Seth - a dark cloaked Seth similar to the Grim Reaper though Karthus already has a skin like that... (or) Soul Reaver Seth Rice Field/Eastern Seth - Seth dressed like an Asian rice farmer with the iconic conical straw hat. Miner Seth - Replaces his scythe with a large mining pick and a miner's uniform.
