Project Leona lacks feminine appeal.

I bought Project Leona on a whim because I've been using her Valkyrie skin since her release. When I first took a look at it in game, I felt underwhelmed and immediately had second thoughts about owning it. Comparing to Fiora's (the only other female with a project skin) she lacks any femininity, at least Fiora has a skin tight Zero-Suit look about her, where you can clearly tell by the curvature created by her armor, hell, I'm pretty sure she even has a boobie plate in the front. Leona lacks anything that would allow her to resemble a woman, even her exposed lower face and hair doesn't give the impression that there is a woman underneath. I would really like to see her changed to give her more female aspects to her armor (skin in general) or put more focus on showing that, "Yes - there is a woman underneath this armor."

Really disappointed with my purchase, I wouldn't even mind that she lacks flashier effects that other Project Champions have that she doesn't.

Not all women are meant to be feminine, same reason why not all men should be muscle freaks. Nothing is meant to be absolutely clear cut, stereotypes are not meant to be laws.

She's a tank. She's not supposed to wear a skin tight suit.

She has one in her classic skin, but she still has armor on top.

She's supposed to have the bulky armor...she's a cyborg tank...

If im not mistaken, all his armor have the shape of a built male carved into it. Its not his flesh pressing up against metal causing the formation, but the 'blacksmith' put abs and pecs onto the armor. I'm not asking for a barbie plate over Leona (opposed to the Ken plate over Pantheon), I just want there to be more of a female aspect to her armor, which is lacking.

Fullmetal Panth is practically genderless unless you consider everything not of hourglass shape to be male.

Panth has 6 packs armour on his Classic, Leona has metallic boob on her Classic. But that doesn't mean all of their skins should clearly demonstrate/show their gender for whatever reason.

Why I brought up Panth's 6 packs is that, nobody cares about it, which the same attitude should also be applied to Leona too. Whether there is female aspect or not, we don't and shouldn't care too much.

A character is male? Cool. A character is female? Cool. That's it, end of the story.

EDIT: To elaborate on that just a bit more, we should only run into problems with a character's appearance when it makes no sense to their own personality and/or the theme of the particular skin line in question.

And what's wrong with an unmasked skin of a character who is meant to never show him/herself due to their extreme "moral" standard or whatever reason?

Morde has a Pentakill skin that gives him glorious albs when he isn't even meant to have those considering his status of being a wraith, I don't see you crying about it.

There is nothing wrong with Unmasked Kayle, and there's nothing wrong with Pentakill Morde. You're getting mad because you've been saying in this thread the whole time that nobody should care about the sex of a Champion based on what they're wearing or etc...I pointed out Unmasked Kayle as a counter to that, which you've neglected to rebuttal against.

Unmasked Kayle was not a "people care about sex", it's simply a reference, big difference.

No one knew Samus was actually a female until the reveal, that's why this meme is so well known. Kayle was simply designed with that idea in mind hence everyone already knew who she is on day 1, the skin was simply there to complete the homage, an icing on the cake if you will.

That's why it wasn't a skin created to satisfy the community's curiosity, same with Morde's Pentakill, which is a homage to heavy metal genre (the thing Morde is based on). They both have nothing with gender at all.

You mean the people who never played Metroid on NES and only played smash brothers, right? There is no "meme", and that's why I said the homage is irrelevant because Samus was always known as female to people who actually play video games.

Yes, that's after her gender was revealed in the games.

It was a deliberate design choice to purposely hide her gender until the end, she had been intentionally referred to as if she's either genderless or male until that point.

Unless you're extremely observant on details the devs accidentally left behind, otherwise it was near impossible to tell by most gamers at the time. That's why it's famous.

The skin to satisfy the community's curiosity, in other words people cared about her sex, so they made a skin to reveal it.

The Unmasked Kayle was not there to satisfy community's curiosity towards Kayle's gender since we already knew about it at her launch. It was only there to satisfy a particular theme she has.

That's the reason why I even brought up the Pentakill Morde in the first place. It has 6 packs, but it has nothing to do with his gender or community's interests in it (that's if there's even any), and is merely saluting the music genre that gave birth to this particular champ's design.

That's it. Gender is not something people look too much into in designs, at least not always, and that's a good thing. You should treat genders as trivial facts too.

Her Valkyrie skin is very girly, she even has a midriff showing and no armor around the backside of her thighs or around her neck/chest.

And? Look at her base and other skins. They all follow a set pattern. Valkyrie just goes of a bit but that's because Valkyries themselves don't wear extremely heavy armour but stick to what allows them fight efficiently and still provides some form of modesty and protection. Overall, girly just isn't part of Leona's identity. She's a strong female character and that alone should be enough feminine appeal, unless you like helpless damsels, not saying anything wrong with that, but that's just not Leona.

I don't care about masculinity or femininity. Man or a woman, If you look good, you look good. You don't need to overdose on sex appeal to the point you end up a slut to be attractive.

Dude your post is crap. Project: Leona looks awesome. And by the way. Leona is one those champs that goes to show that No matter how decked in armor a woman is, she is still a beauty. I mean Fiora is dress modestly as she is still sexy as hell because she got a rocking body. And to be honest See more women wearing armor without having a Cleavage window or something that bars a little skin as an excuse to add "sex appeal" is something that should be done more. Trust me I love it there is a sexy skin out, but I appreciate real sexyness instead of that tramppy crap that is fed to the masses to water the pool and harden the spear. That is why I think that Pool Party Leona is damn sexy, even if it rather conservative.

Well it's also the same hair style as Rengar's (to me at least), I don't see people complaining about the latter being feminine.

While true, a combo of long hair and slim build might link to a feminine image, but that doesn't mean we should take it that way. Lucian is a guy, he looks like a guy, he identifies himself to be a guy, well then he is a guy.

I never said anything about men having to be muscle men, I clearly said that Lucian looks more feminine then normal with his PROJECT skin. I personally like him being more feminine, just because he looks a tad cooler. I would love a skin to change Lucian into a woman, sort of like changing him into being Senna, which is what Brofresco touched upon in his vid for this new skin. The reason I said this was because it was a positive change. You must have taken this as a negative comment, im assuming.

A bit extreme with the gender-character swap there bro. but it's a cool idea on paper. I've haven't seen Project Lucian or Lucian and any other skins as "feminine" just because he's slender.

Honestly, they should have just kept classic Leona's little frilly dress design on the project skin and everything would be solved. But I do agree that it does make her look a bit too robotic whereas the classic skin is feminine (long hair, dress), as is just about every other skin aside from possibly defender.

That said, it's not all that big a deal anyway. Project Leona looks badass, though I don't understand why she got the robotification voice when there's clearly a human inside that armor.
