Malcontents: A Team of Traitors

This team, composed of a Marksman, a Mage, a Tank, an Assassin, and a Fighter/Support, is largely an exploration into characters that are dissatisfied with their place in life, and how that affects their gameplay.

The other reason was that I had some really cool ideas that went well with the theme.

Hilde, the Hollow Seraph (Melee Hybrid fighter/tank/support)

Hilde was a brilliant young woman, full of promise, studying under Jayce's tutelage when she was disfigured and nearly killed by a disastrous laboratory accident. Feeling somewhat responsible, and eager to compete with Viktor's creations, Jayce decided to rebuild what was left of his assistant into a mechanized body. Hilde, reanimated with dulled feelings into a world brighter, louder, and colder than the one she had left, was less than pleased.

Hilde can be played aggressively with NJU5 and DXK8 (R and W) or defensively with RMK4 and SLN2, (Q and E) but benefits more from aggressive play. Because of the nature of her abilities (robotic augmentations), when she puts the first point into each ability, the augment is added to the character model. This has the benefit of looking cool as well as letting allies (and enemies) know if you're ready to engage with your Reactive Armor, or if you can use your Q to find a target, and so on.

**Passive: ARC9 Biomechanical Augments ** Hilde gains movement speed equal to 20% of her AP. This increases to 25% at level 11 and 30% at 16. Q: RMK4 Holographic Rangefinder Hilde sweeps the battlefield with a targeting laser, dealing a small amount 20/20/20/20/20 (+10% AP) of magic damage to enemies and applying Holographic Target. Hilde’s movement speed towards the enemy with Holographic Target and her basic attack range against the target are increased. Holographic Rangefinder can be cast again within five seconds on an ally to transfer the buff to that ally. W: DXK8 Reactive Armor Hilde blasts nearby enemies away, dealing 60 / 110 / 160 / 210 / 260 (+ 70% AP) in physical damage, and gains a spell shield for 0.5 seconds. If an ability is blocked this way, Hilde applies Holographic Target to the enemy champion that cast the ability. E: SLN2 Nanorepair Burst Passive: Hilde gains increased armor and attack speed. Active: Hilde reallocates her defensive nanobots, healing for 70 / 115 / 160 / 200 / 260 (+ 40% AP) and removing cc from an allied champion, or dealing damage 50 / 90 / 130 / 180 / 200 (+ 30% AP) over time and slowing an enemy champion. Hilde loses the passive buff until it comes off cooldown. R: NJU5 Engagement Protocols Hilde launches herself like a missile in a targeted direction, dealing significant physical damage 400/500/600 (+70% AP) on impact and knocking back the enemy champion. Can be activated again after launch until up to two seconds after impact to re-launch toward the enemy with Holographic Target, if that enemy is in range, dealing half its initial damage If NJU5 collides with the edge of the map, Hilde stops moving and is stunned for 4/5/6 seconds. Don't miss.

Cynic, the Optimist (Melee AD assassin)

As a Noxian assassin trainee, Cynic learned to kill long before he learned to ask who he was killing, or why. These questions confronted him aggressively when an operation took him undercover in Zaun, with Dr. Slate as the target. As he gathered information and asked questions, he grew increasingly dissatisfied with the answers, abandoning the operation when he learned that Slate wasn't planning the insurrectionist activities he was told, but instead doing nothing more than promoting the use of the scientific method. Cynic struck out on his own, uncertain of his loyalties, but knew one thing for sure: he could never go back.

Cynic is designed as a versatile but fragile jungler capable of causing a lot of problems for the enemy team and distracting or killing high-value single targets, using Friendly Shadow and Infiltrator to close in and dispatch them before they have time to react.

Passive: Noxian Reflexes Cynic's spell casts temporarily increase his attack speed. Q: Mindreaper Crossbow Cynic fires his crossbow as a skillshot, dealing damage and applying cc effects from Modular Neurophage. If Modular Neurophage isn't activated, it slows the target instead. W: Modular Neurophage Cynic prepares a nerve agent, which is applied on his next basic attack or Mindreaper Crossbow. Modular Neurophage can be activated multiple times before it is used to switch to a different effect, between a fear, taunt, or silence. Only triggers a cooldown after the nerve agent is applied. The taunt forces the target to engage the nearest non-structure enemy. E: Friendly Shadow Cynic cloaks and gains significant movement speed 20%/30%/40%/50%/60% for a short time. The movement speed buff increases if he’s heading towards an ally. R: Infiltrator Cynic disguises as target champion or neutral non-epic monster for 5/6/7 seconds and, if the target is a monster, immediately swaps position with it.

Abigail, the Frail (Melee Tank/Fighter/Support)

Raised in the Winter's Claw tribe under Sejuani's harsh rule, Abigail learned very early that weakness in any form would not be tolerated. As it turned out, the definition of "weakness" also included helping those seen as weak, and, after she was accosted and publicly humiliated for providing food for a frail old man, left the tribe of her own volition before the leaders had the chance to exile her as an example. As she wandered aimlessly though the blinding snow, she promised herself that she would return as a kind and just ruler - or not at all.

Very strong against physical damage, significantly weaker against magic damage. She’s intended to be a top-lane or jungle tank that can dramatically turn the tide of late-game teamfights by intentionally getting in the way of cc effects intended for the team’s damage dealers and by healing and shielding her team. Passive: Ice Veins When Abigail is hit with cc she gains 20% bonus armor for the duration of the effect. Q: Fist of the Weak Abigail strikes enemy champion, dealing damage, slowing (or stunning them if they have AD greater than 275 or AP greater than 350) W: Shield of the Downtrodden Shields allied champion. When the shield runs out, Abigail and the target heal for the amount of damage the shield absorbed. E: Salvation for the Oppressed Abigail heals all allied champions nearby. Heals more if they are affected by cc, heals more if they are outnumbered. **R: Tomb of the Tyrant ** Abigail becomes invulnerable and immune to cc and dashes to an enemy champion, dealing damage to and suppressing the target but becoming stunned for the duration.

Eva the Absolver (Ranged AD Marksman)

Eva died before her time, incinerated by an unknown force, and was raised from her grave before she had acclimated to death, retaining the strong sense of identity and a strangely cheery demeanor she had in life. Upon her resurrection, she burst from her coffin with a weapon in her hands, Redeemer inscribed on it in her necromancer's idea of a joke. She was told to use her shiny new gun on a prisoner in front of her, a Yordle named Olivia Slate unconscious and chained to the wall, but Eva decided that she had other plans. Free from the necromancer's control by seemingly nothing more than timing, chance, and sheer willpower (and possibly the unwise haste with which she was resurrected), Eva destroyed the chains and turned Redeemer on the mage that had raised her from the dead. As she fought her way out of the Shadow Isles, Slate's unconscious form chained to her skeletal shoulders, one particular spectral figure hounded after her. If the screams that came from its lantern were any indication, it thirsted for souls, and Eva had no intention of quenching it.

Eva’s primary function, first and foremost, is killing things with fire. Since she’s equipped with quite a few crowd control abilities she could conceivably lane by herself, but without much mobility she’s particularly vulnerable to ganks by enemy assassins, so keeping a support nearby would increase her survivability.
Passive: Cleansing Flames Eva has bonus crit chance and her crits set the target on fire, doing damage over time based on her AP instead of standard critical strikes. Additionally, she can pick up the souls of the deceased and gains a stacking buff based on how many souls she has delivered to the nexus. She drops all souls upon death. Q: Displacer Round Eva fires an overcharged shot from her Redeemer, her coilgun, dealing damage to all enemies in a line and pulling them toward the projectile. W: Fiendseeker Eva deploys a drone that damages and bounces off enemies, prioritizing paths that take it toward enemy champions. It stops and explodes when it hits an enemy champ. E: Singularity Charge Eva throws a grenade that detonates after a couple seconds, damaging and pulling in all nearby enemies. It can be detonated early for more damage over a smaller area. R: Fires of Absolution Enemies afflicted with Incendiary Rounds explode in flame with an AOE effect and are feared for one second. Fiendseeker leaves a fiery trail in its wake, dealing damage to all enemies that pass through it. Singularity Charge spawns a pillar of flame in the center.

Dr. Slate, Traitor to Zaun (Ranged mostly-AP Mage)

Doctor Olivia Slate, a Yordle with a scientific bent, moved to Zaun after a strange, nightmarish experience in the Shadow Isles led her to abandon her efforts there. While she could turn a blind eye to the corruption, unrest, and ties to Noxus that were increasingly hard to ignore, the utter disrespect that Zaun's "scientific" community showed for methodology and empiricism pushed her over the edge, and her fight against inconsistent experimentation and complete disregard for rules eventually forced her into a fight for her survival as well.

Passive: Beacon Slate’s abilities reveal nearby enemies. Q: Trident Strike Slate fires a trio of medium-range enemy-piercing energy bolts behind her that arc around her left and right sides and over her head. W: Boreas Drone Slate launches a drone that hovers near her and hurls itself at the first enemy champion that comes within range, taunting them and dealing a small amount of damage if it hits. The duration of the taunt is based on Slate’s armor. E: Notos Drone Slate deploys a drone that flies around and assaults nearby enemies, prioritizing champions. Its attack speed scales off of Slate’s attack speed. It can be controlled manually by re-activating the ability, but commanding it manually reduces its duration. R: Havoc Salvo Slate launches a swarm of missiles across the map, revealing all enemies hit. If she has Boreas or Notos drones active, they will leave her side and become Havoc drones, seeking out the first enemy hit by Havoc Salvo.

There might be pictures eventually, if anyone is interested.
