Female Champion Body Types

In the hopes that someone from Riot might see this, I think that perhaps the next female champ that comes out should be a bit more plus sized! I feel like the support from the female players would be huge and I'd love to see a female champ that is both attractive AND plus sized!

I like sexy women.

I want to see more sexy women in my games.

I don't find plus sized girls attractive.

I don't want plus sized girls in my games.

im all about more diverse body types for female characters in this game. a lot of people say rek'sai RekSai is a good example of this but honestly she really isn't at all. she's a woman only in the context of her voice being a higher tone then what you imagine a male version of her would sound like. if you need to remind players that this character is a female then she's probably not very good female representation.

i think 2 really good examples for plus sized female representation are

Zephyr

a legitimately fat woman who has super powers that don't have to just do with her weight (arguably some say she's a literal blimp but the story i read shows she very much overweight before she becomes a super power, implying that it's actual fat and not some weird hot air super power)

and brienne of tarth

http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/11/117031/3660017-brienne.jpg

still a woman obviously but she's a warrior and she's strong and durable as any fighter should be (remember female fighters don't have to be dexterity based) these 2 me are good examples of non sexualized or idealized female characters and function fine as good representation for girls who have a little bit in the tums.

im all for more diverse body types in women. kalista was an okay start, but we could do better and hopefully have a character who is X and is Y and not X because of Y or X despite of Y (does this make sense)

and too the folks saying "i don't want it in my games" or "i wouldn't play it" that's the cool thing about league, there's over 100 characters so you won't ever have too, i don't ever play hyper feminine characters simply because i don't see myself represented in them and they don't fulfill my in game fantasy. but i bet there's plenty of people in our player base who would love or need this kind of representation.

TL:DR -more body types in league pls, particularly for the women since they're lacking in that department. don't let your fat girl characters be walking fat jokes like we've let gragas become (no angry redneck ullga skin pls) female characters are strong when they're strong and they're feminine, not when they're strong because they're women or despite being women.

Pretty sure Gragas is the only +Size champ (unless we're counting non-humans). I mean, it is a battle arena, where the champions are always engaged in intense combat (lore wise, and game wise). This means they are always getting a workout, which would only make them lose weight. The only reason Gragas is so large is because his fighting involves chugging down barrels of grog. If you notice, his arms are muscular. That is because he is always carrying, lifting, and throwing his barrels of Grog, thus working out his upper arms.

I'm also not quite sure a female Gragas could achieve attractiveness... Unless there are actually people out there who find Gragas to be attractive. If that's the case, sure, maybe some men (or women) would find a female Gragas attractive. To each their own, right?

fat people disgust me

Oh boy, here we go again... This isn't the first time a heated argument spurred out from such a talking of a, not exactly fit female for a champion... In fact when this was first brought up I did make a champion under those circumstances to show how A. it could be done right and B. Just to look and see how pissed off people would get from it all.

As for my opinion on the whole thing? Well look at the whole god damn roster of champions we have, and tell me some of them are more sillier or just wouldn't work in reality as a legit thing? A plus size female wouldn't surprise me in a game that has a crying mummy, a nine tailed fox, a bunch of monster from an alternate dimension, two reanimated soldiers, a drunk, a well mustached man with an ego, a mutant rat, and a guy the uses an anchor as a weapon, AND THAT IS JUST NAMING THE PEOPLE I HAVE UNLOCKED!

I think we can all agree that the Renaissance-era female nudes, while more well-rounded than one might expect, are still exceedingly beautiful. Plus-sized doesn't necessarily mean Gragas-sized, after all.

Of course, that perspective lends itself its own problems: Renaissance art is guided primarily by anatomical study, so it really doesn't mesh well with Riot's more anime-esque style, which relies on exaggeration to define a given character. That being said, the principles behind creating a character who is both overweight and reasonably physically attractive are probably universally applicable, the trick being figuring out how to apply those principles to a given art style, rather than shifting to one in which they are already apparent.

Patience, OP. I'm sure that if/when Riot's art department reaches that point, they'll do it anyway for the sake of some weird concept/mechanic that they think would fit her best.

Ice Weasel X3/1/2015, 7:15:48 PM3 votes

Why does she have to be attractive? Why can't we have a female Gragas counterpart?

...except, please cover her up more. Gragas is too sexualized as it is.

I want a champ that resembles Ellie from Borderlands 2

EmittingXs3/1/2015, 7:32:24 PM2 votes

Doesn't Rek'sai break the "skinny and attractive female" cycle? Compared to other women in LoL, she's plus sized and I support her... but seriously, I've always wanted a Gragas-esque female fighter. Some one burly and kick ass, kinda like Vi, but stronger looking and not super pretty and attractive. Sure Rek'sai is a chick but she doesn't fully represent what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a human, not a Void monster.

Zahz3/1/2015, 11:06:31 PM1 votes

rek sai is pretty large

And I would like to see the easter bunny but unfortunately such things simply do not exist.
