Game Mode idea: Faction Wars

This is my first time posting here so please bear with me. I am relatively new to the game and also very bad at it.

My favourite ways to play League are almost always the rotating game modes. Thanks to my son, who introduced me to the game to begin with, I became quite interested in the lore behind the champions. With so many champions aligned with countries/factions/places, could there be a place for a Faction Wars game mode?

Players queue up and each 5-person team either votes for or is randomly assigned a faction. They can then only pick champions associated with those factions, e.g if your team gets DEMACIA!!!! Yordles?

Thoughts?

Sounds like a fun idea, Riot could easily pull that off, you just have to get enough support for them to think its worth it. Although I think it might need a little extra something to it, like maybe each team gets some sort of bonus based on what "faction" they are using, otherwise it would just be like a normal 5v5 game, just your team had specific champions to use.

Well maybe it will become a game mode sometime? But until then you can check out https://leaguefactions.net/ (Oh and if I remember correctly they completely ignored the retcon that riot did which removed the Leauge of Legends/the institute of war and summoners)

I always loved lore-based matchups. One thing i'd also like to include is country-changing skins, like Underworld Wukong and Twisted Fate being available to the Shadow Isles roster, and Freljord Taliyah available to the Freljord roster.

Could always expand this and make a different matchup for every skin faction (Arcade/Battlecast/Project) out there, but that'd be a ton of extra work.

The faction bonus also sounds like a really neat idea, but i wonder how they'd work, because a buff called 'Heart of Demacia' that gives +35% bonus HP sounds neat but arguably won't be as useful to a Lux as to a Garen.

I think what would make this gamemode really cool, while also being alot harder to make, is if they really brought the lore into it, for example maybe quests or something. Like when/zed would have to kill each other for a buff, or if you get revenge on this champion for what they did then you get _____. Who knows, just an idea. Also maybe a rock/paper/scissors type thing where demacia counters noxus, yordles counter demacis, noxus counters yordles?

It's not a bad idea at first. But it's going to need some investigation and some clearance on each of the champion's lore.

Factions also really depend on each of the champion's alignment. (i.e. Chaotic neutral, evil) Also, some champs dont really have a confirmed faction (Most notably Riven and Yasuo , who have broken off ties with their former factions)

I don't ever remember Veigar being a Yordle.

Lastly, it's a good idea overall, but it seems like a gamemode to more experienced players, as some newbies won't have yet experienced or ever played specific champions in-game. Also the team comp seems a little shaky when it comes into a proper 5v5 match.

Good idea, but needs some thought!

I've heard rumors Riot is working on something like this and it's an event that will be Noxus Vs Bandle City, as Noxus tries to Invade the Yordle's home.
