What happened to getting the original skin when a major change in one of your old champions changed?

This is the first time I've actually been bothered enough in all of my years of playing to actually post something. I enjoyed being apart of this game while it was starting up and loved all of the artwork even if it was old. Now I have been wondering if they just made a fluke doing it with Karma and Trundle, but why are we not allowed to enjoy our old skins of champions that we owned before they changed the skins or major overhauls as in Karma, Trundle, and now Sion.

I don't see the reason as to why there were some special cases and now the old is just being forgotten.

Just a fan that loves all of the art.

There was a red comment about why. It boiled down to vastly different rigging and the fact that a "Traditional" skin wasn't needed to bridge the gap between themes. Sion went from being a big undead dude with an axe that stuns people and gains health to a big undead dude with an axe that stuns people and gains health. Karma's whole kit got shuffled around and Trundle went from being a plague bearer to an ice troll.

Well when you say it like that it is a little understandable. I'm just honestly a fan of the art and now it's gone never to be seen again.
