The Gold Miner
So I've been playing League for about two years if I am correct and I decided to just design a champ. I never have done anything like this before so yeah. I'm not good with numbers so I'll just use variables instead cause I have no idea what makes someone balanced or OP or whatever. Shout out to my best friend HarryPriest for the concept art as I am no artist.
The concept of the champion is a gold miner. I haven't seen one in a MOBA before (granted I only play League and I dabbled in DOTA 2 some time before). Basically, he mines gold from nearby walls or veins or other sources. I don't have a name for him, but I figured it'd be cool to have a name that was some other language other than English for gold, like Aurum (Latin) or Oro (Italian). I like the idea of him being from the Freljord, maybe like Braum's brother or something as he is burly and has a rocking beard in the concept art
Abilities Passive: Every (X) seconds, an gold vein spawns on a nearby wall for Oro to mine. Each vein has three chunks of health (similar to how a Yorick wall's health works) that are removed after Oro attacks it. The more attack speed Oro has, the faster he mines it. At level 11, veins have 2 health. Each health chunk grants (X) gold (I proposed 10) and an additional (X) gold for completing the vein. Veins that are started have (X) seconds to be mined (I proposed 7). Also, gold income would increase by level (I also had a dumb idea that if another enemy champ had a pickaxe, then they could also mine the gold XD). Possible names include Golden Eye or Prosperous Blessing.
Q: Oro throws his pickaxe dealing (X) base damage plus (AD Ratio). If his pickaxe hits an ore vein, it take away 2 health chunks and lands on the ground. Picking up Oro's pick gives him 5 additional gold, and halves his Q's cooldown. Ground axes last 5 seconds. Enemies can walk over the pickaxe to destroy it. If the pick bounces off the vein and hits an enemy champion, they take an extra .5 total damage based of the Q's damage. If the bounced axe hits an allied champion, they gain 10 gold. Possible names include Go for the Gold and Pick!.
W: Oro throws some of his own gold supply (independent of the players gold or maybe not; just whatever works. I was thinking of abilities that costed gold instead of mana or energy) onto the ground to create a zone of gold coins. The initial impact damages enemies for (X) amount plus (AP Ratio). The enemies that are inside the circle and/or enter it are slowed as they attempt to grab the coins for they are extremely greedy (just slows them). Potential names include Fools Gold or Charity.
E: Oro spends (X) gold (Player gold) to fashion a bomb out of said gold which he throws for (X) base damage and (AD/AP Ratio [whichever works best]). The cost progressively grows but so does the base damage. Possible names include Costly Detonation or Gold Bomb.
R: Oro slams his pickaxe into the ground, summoning a fountain of molten gold that flows outward in a circular shape. Anyone hit by the fountain is knocked back and pushed away from the center of the fountain. Enemies are dealt (X) damage and (AD/AP Ratio), but gain (X) amount of gold for standing in the ultimate. Allies are healed for (X) amount and receive (X) gold (less than the enemies are given since they do not take any damage in this process). The duration of the ultimate lasts for 4 seconds and lasts longer based on level. Possible names include The Fountain of Aurum and the Price of War.
This is pretty much my champion. I'd love to see him in game as pretty much every other fan designer is obviously. With his ult, I wanted to put a twist into it as it deals damage, but also grants gold as a way to weaken the greedy. This is the kit I designed, and the art my friend made.
