Stellatrix, the Sun Eater ((champion concept))

Hey guys! I noticed there haven't been any dragon themed characters in a while, so I had an idea for a star dragon champion.

Their name is Stellatrix. Stellatrix' overall body type is similar to a Western dragon, and much like Aurelion Sol's, is somewhat transparent. Her body is mainly a ghostly black with a deep red orb glowing within her chest; her wings are bat-like, their and her other joints being faintly glowing red-orange stars with the bones being much fainter lines of the same color within the gauzy black and grey of her wings and body. Like Aurelion Sol, her hind legs and tail trail off and dissolve behind her when she is moving, but become "solid" when at rest for a while and she sits down. At the end of her tail are three connected red-orange star beads that decrease in size; on her shoulders are similar orbs.

HER STORY/IN-GAME BIO:

Stellatrix is ancient. Her first memory is hunger, and being drawn towards light; she embraced the light and brought it inside her, and was filled with a sense of satisfaction of purpose. She continued her search, flying through and consuming more light. After this first journey ended, though, she was reminded of her first memory: hunger, and darkness. She felt sensitive, and exposed.

Through her quest for light, Stellatrix gained great wisdom; she could tell when a star was born and when it would go nova, down to the picosecond. She also noticed a curious phenomenon on some of the rocky orbs near stars: life. Though not a star's energy, the tiny beings had their own light and spirit that enraptured Stellatrix, constantly changing and growing.

Now seeing how other beings depended on light, Stellatrix shepherded stars towards these rocks, consuming the old and failing lights they relied on and replacing them with new ones. This continued for eons, until she came across a world with a force she hadn't encountered before: magic. Being that lived without light invaded it frequently. Then one millenium as Stellatrix observed, she hungered, and tried to leave to feed. She couldn't, and an odd and beautiful cluster of beings materialized before her with an offer: guard and shepherd this planet in their service, in return for her fill of light. Stellatrix knew immediately the dangers of accepting, and agreed on the condition that she be able to leave the planet's presence to feed. The beings agreed, and Stellatrix left at once for a leisurely meal.

Now, she has returned. Runeterra once again has a guardian... but she is not a tame dragon.

STATS: Health 561 – 2058 Attack damage 59 – 118 Health regen. 6.24 – 15.1 Attack speed [*] 0.625 (+ 0 – 17.5%) Mana: 345 -- 1283 Mana Regen: 6.5 -- 17.9 Armor 31.8 – 88.5 Magic resist. 31.4 – 55.2 Range 150 Move. speed 330

KIT: Passive: Astravore. Abilities used by nearby enemy champions and the deaths of large minions and monsters leave behind stars. Minions, monsters, and basic abilities leave behind small stars; these stars give 0.5-2.5% bonus health and armor and magic resist for 13-30 seconds. The deaths of epic monsters and ultimate abilities used by enemy champions leave big stars and give the same bonuses permanently and also give 3-10 AP for 20 seconds.

Q: Constellate Pushes a star in the target length and direction, dealing damage to enemies it passes through, with the damage decreasing 15% for each target hit, down to 40%(enemies hits by multiple stars take the same reduced damage for each star); small stars vanish at the end of the path if they collide with an enemy. Stars that hit each other are knocked away a distance inversely proportional to the distance traveled by the star in motion, up to the length of the original cast. ((Max distance: 650; Small star damage: 30/47.5/65/82.5/100 +25% AP; Big star damage: 50/75/100/125/150 +40% AP; Cooldown: 6/5.5/5/4.5/4 seconds; Mana Cost: 40))

W: Consume Stellatrix consumes all the stars in the target area, regaining health; if she consumes at least 3 stars she gains a shield for the next 3 seconds. Enemies in the area are also silenced. ((Range: 800, Effect radius: 175(stars at least 40% inside the radius are consumed), Silence duration: 1 second, Small star heal: 10/20/30/40/50 +10% AP +1% AP extra for each star, Big star heal: 20/33.75/47.5/61.25/75 +10% AP +5% AP extra for each star, Shield strength: 70/100/130/160/190 +40% AP, Cooldown: 16/14.5/13/11.5/10 seconds, Mana cost: 50/57.5/65/72.5/80))

E: Nova

Stellatrix deals damage in the area around her and the target area, causing stars in the area to explode for additional damage; small stars are destroyed, and enemies take 25% damage from additional star blasts beyond the first. ((Initial blast radius: 400, Target range: 400, Target radius: 250, Initial Damage: 50/75/100/125/150 +40% AP, Small star damage: 25/43.75/62.5/81.25/100 +15% AP, Big star damage: 40/61.25/82.5/103.75/125 +30% AP. If stars are at least 40% inside the radius they detonate; Cooldown: 18, Mana Cost: 80/87.5/95/102.5/110))

R: Extinguish Passively makes bonuses from stars permanent when Stellatrix kills the enemy that dropped them while the bonus is active. Activate for Stellatrix to channel and suppress the target champion, dealing damage to it and near-sighting it during the suppression. Extinguish deals additional damage for stars recently consumed. ((Range: 500, Damage: 100/150/200 +60% AP, Small star damage: 25/40/55 +1% per star AP, Big star damage: 30/50/70 +2.5% per star AP, Suppression duration: 1.5/1.75/2 seconds, Cooldown: 140/120/100 seconds, Mana Cost: 100))

QUOTES: Stellatrix has a smooth, well-rounded and heavy contralto voice with excellent diction.

Champ Select: Greetings, old friend. Champ Ban: You'll return to me, in time.

FRIENDS/ALLIES/RIVALS/ENEMIES Friends: Bard: Though they once were very bitter enemies, Bard has come to understand Stellatrix's methods and needs as necessities. She in turn has worked with him to keep the universe in balance, even though she despises meeps. There are many layers of nuance to their bond that only make sense on a cosmic scale, and as such, mortals firmly believes them to be betraying their own cause with the friendship.

Allies: Targon's Aspect of the Sun and Aspect of the Moon: Stellatrix' chief points of interaction with the Targonian pantheon, they watch over and enforce her contract. Though equitable, Stellatrix knew exactly what she was getting into with them, and is not personally close with the Aspects.

Rivals: Aurelion Sol: Stellatrix sees Aurelion as an opposing force of nature rather than a true rival, trimming down his excess and stepping in where she sees him as unneeded. Aurelion sees her as overly cautious and sentimental, and did much to evade and foil her before his binding by Targon.

Not sure if they're going to make another space dragon, her lore is really similar as well, with a twist of course, but she has the exact same role as Sol too. Aurelion is a pretty unique concept and should probably be left that way.

When it comes to her kit I can see some interesting things.

Her passive seems like a mix between Thresh passive and Syndra's Q, or something. Pretty neat, though I'd like to know how long they'd linger on the ground, if she can stack them infinitly and then bursting someone down when she has enough, or keeping track of them and using them at the best time. Also if the stars drop globally or just in an area around Stellarix. I'm guessing just in an aoe around her, as it would otherwise lead to a ton of stars being on the map constantly.

I'm guessing her Q works similarly to Syndra's E, sending out nearby stars as skillshots. Poke ability, clear the minion wave, use you q to get some damage on the enemy laner, not bad. Also seems like there's some weird mechanic of hitting stars outside the Q range with a moving star, seems kinda clunky, but I suppose it gives that nice and high skill ceiling.

W seems pretty powerful but the numbers could always be changed, it's a proof of concept after all. Gives great sustain and a nice shield, and gives her a really good laning phase, but also really strong in teamfights. I'm guessing this is the only way she has of consuming the stars, so you don't accidentally pick them up when you want to attack someone with the Q. Is kinda balanced out with consuming the stars as it completely removes the usefulness of her q untill you've built up some more stars.

From what I've understood her E is both in an aoe around herself and and a targeted location, I could be wrong. From what I've understood you'd want to stack up your stars somewhere, then explode them when an enemy walks too close to them. When it comes to balancing this out, you could go one of two ways. One, focus on the initial damage, to give her some damage outside her passive stars. Or go for the damage caused by the stars, to be able to stack up stars in one place and then oneshot someone who's dumb enough to walk into it.

I'm not really too sure about the ultimate. From what I'm guessing it had kinda the same thought behind it as Syndra's ultimate, making the ult extremely simple because of how complicated the basic abilites work. In action it would be really similar to Malzahar ultimate, and we all know how fun that is. The passive part of the ultimate gives her a lot of reasons to just afk farm, and then scale into the lategame, similarly to Nasus or Veigar, gaining increased stats from the stars.

TL:DR The theme is kinda meh, I see how you really want it to coexist with aurelion, and I could see the differences, but star dragon is a really specific and unique theme, that probably shouldn't be done more than twice. From description she sounds pretty scary, with ominous red, although she's described as being pretty friendly.

When it comes to her kit though, I can see some pretty cool stuff. There's a ton of ways the passive could work, and there's a lot to work with as a player, a lot to learn and master. Maybe take a second look at her R maybe, from what I've seen you're good at coming up with really cool stuff.

Gameplay wise she seems like a pretty tanky mage, or a magic tank? With the passive of her ultimate she's going to get a ton of extra armor, mr and health, but also ap. Seems like a hard scaling champion, who also has a pretty good laning phase with lots of sustain. She lacks a lot of mobility, which is pretty normal for a tank, and that's really how I see her at this point, something similar to Cho'gath or Galio, a champion that could go for RoA.

I really think you could find a really cool theme for the concept, maybe changing the stars to small flames, flowers or droplets of water.

I really hope someone's going to bother reading all this, I don't even really feel like checking it through for potential grammatical errors.
