Ideas for Mastery Ranks 8, 9, & 10

It has been a while since Mastery Ranks 6 and 7 were released and by now people are looking for an 8, 9, and even 10. So, the ideas I have for them are as follows: Ranks 8 and 9 are achieved through mastery score like the original 5 ranks. At Rank 8 the player receives a champ specific icon, this could be a weapon or symbol significant to the character (One example is the X from X Wuz Here for Jinx) and minor updates to the rank 7 icon which can be flashed in game. When a player reaches Rank 9 they receive a new mastery icon to flash. For Rank 10 the player will be required to obtain 4-5 S+ ratings on the champion, they will then receive the ultimate mastery icon and an icon that lets you have the profile background of that character (For example a player gets rank 10 with Urgot, they unlock an icon of Urgot’s portrait that when equipped functions like the ultimate skins, changing their profile background to Urgot’s splash art). These icons could even be ripped from the passive and ability icons if Riot didn’t wish to create all new icons. Another idea for Rank 10 was a special chroma (Something in Rito colors) for the champion’s base skin, however some champions already have chromas and I feel the Icon/Profile background would be enjoyed much more than a chroma.

I disagree with the idea of requiring S+ games to increase mastery. It doesn't mean much, and is more often than not more frustrating than it is fun.

Specific requirements for each individual champion, I feel, would be much more effective and wouldn't require you to win or dominate games to progress. For example, if the highest Mastery step required 3 specific feats or achievements for a champion, then for Illaoi it could be X seconds of enemy souls taken, X tentacle slams landed, and a Pentakill with your ultimate achieved. For Rammus, it could be X damage deflected, X seconds of enemies taunted, and X damage dealt to structures with his ultimate.

Just a thought.

Make it a more cumulative requirement that also reflects your skill with the champion compared to other players. Make it based off your average Mastery Score over the last number of games (10-20). Have your average compared to other players' averages, and if you are in the top X% you gain the corresponding Mastery Level (say, 70% for Mastery 8, 80% for Mastery 9, and 90% for Mastery 10).

It could either be a "once and done" achievement, or a changing ranking system where you can drop back down again if you do poorly (which would make the Mastery Levels more indicative of actual mastery).

I am sorry but I think this system would be to grindy, I don't know how to fix it but it is probably not the way to go, for me atleast. I think it would be better if it had to do with the new mission system. Maybe like a longer more difficult mission line.

Riot mastery system is a joke to begin with. Adding more levels just increases the level of the joke. It would be better if people just forgot about the system and stop wasting money on their shitty new loot system. Then Riot would be forced to to use a system that wasn't so garbage.

Nevertheless it won't happen and we have people crying for MORE! Make us mindlessly play tons of games with a champ and get S+ rating in our broken ass grading system!

Wake up. Mastery score/system is a waste of time and money. People flashing level 7 mastery make me LOL - because of how dumb it is.

I suggest that you can earn a second chest/season if you hit tier 10. But you need to get an S+ to get the 2nd chest (or maybe 3 S+). And you can get max 3 extra chests this way. (So you need to master 2 other champs to get all 3 chests). This provides 1 tricks with 1 extra chest and they normaly dont get as many chests as others. And actually gives you the insentive to master this champion.

The mastery 10 chroma should be golden and be unlocked for all of the champion's skins, or at leats base + legendary/ultimate skins.

Also rank 9 has no reward. Every tier gets a different flair, but rank 9 has no actual reward.
